lol at stream dropping the last round in the last set XD
Could’ve been worse. It didn’t dropped when Clockwork and Neo were 10-10.
And we got rare footage of ricky actually angry
The stream was dope though. I just like IPW commentary, straight Bay area right there. EC commentary is aight.
It was a good stream, for sure!
Think I’m gonna run X-23, Taskmaster, Doom/Dormamu
It turns out that I can’t get a Qanba because I’ve only got a Discover card on me right now…
FML.
Doesn’t play-asia take paypal?
Given the snafu with my VISA card (which works everywhere, but not on Play-Asia, apparently), I’m likely going to go this route, but I’m not quite sure how it works…
So I have a DISCOVER card, and I just load money onto my Paypal account?
(You can load money onto it using actual credit cards? Or do they only take debits?)
Is using Paypal just like shopping online anywhere else? What are the potential pains-in-the-asses?
ANYWAY, I need to get this transaction done ASAP given that I don’t wanna lose the PS3 EMP stick (they only have like 3 in stock and god knows when it’ll re-stock or whether or not they’ll stop making them as the Q4 is coming out… but I don’t want the multi-console Q4 since it’s made with plastic as opposed to wood now)…
Since it’s getting closer to 0 hour, let’s get some more teams!
Haggar, She-Hulk and Arthur/Viewtiful Joe might have to be my team. It’s the best of all worlds: badass, sexy and silly! XD
I kinda wanna somehow work in Viper and Wesker…
Then some third character: likely Dante.
So, yeah…
Team Marn.
Okay, so I’m playing Rogue Galaxy right now and it seems pretty okay…
Though, I think its first mistake is that the game doesn’t have enough cute girls; real talk.
(like, it takes an hour of gameplay for the potential love-interest girl to show up)
ALSO, as far as space pirates are concerned, I don’t think anything will ever beat Captain Harlock’s incarnation in Endless Odyssey:

That show was incredibly badass… like, Harlock essentially went around space and bitch-slapped everyone in the universe.
As an example, it’s the equivalent of walking up to someone and doing a naked ultra combo…
Only to land it 100% of the time.
(no, literally, everything in that show is resolved by the Arcadia spaceship ramming into things)
That said, I’m amused that Steven Blum is in this game (he’s the eye-patch goatee dude)…
In fact, he’s in every game:
He plays Taskmaster and Wolverine in MVC3.
(I also suspect that he plays the one dude in the hotel.com commercial that was running during the West Coast Warzone stream)
But, yeah… the actual game seems okay enough; I like that loading times are minimal and that enough of the game’s design is convenient (the interfaces are intuitive and annoyances with it is minimal… in-game tutorial is very good)…
Real-time battle system seems good, but I’m a little worried that I might have to babysit my allies during combat a little too much somewhere down the line; I’ll know more about this when I’m more familiar with it.
Anyway, it’s still early, but I hope there’s a lot of variety… don’t want the game to just rely on playing the battle-system…
Paypal is just a floating account that you either put your credit card or bank account information into. When you make a purchase with paypal, during checkout, you’ll be forwarded to paypal.com where you’ll input your account information and method of payment. Since lots of web stores accept paypal, it’s nice not having to input your credit card info to different sites with varying levels of security.
I can’t think of any reason, NOT to use paypal. Well, a few years ago, Paypal users were a popular target for phishing scams where crooks would send you an email with a link to a site that looks exactly like Paypal and once you enter your login, they can then steal your account and all it’s info. Paypal really stepped up security since then, and I find it one of the safest ways to make purchases online
Having similar issues as DKL. I just transferred $100 more into my PayPal, looking to get a Qanba, the new Q4 comes stock as multiconsole(!) but is plastic, while the biggest attraction of Qanba sticks to me is the sturdiness of the wood construction. The Q3 comes wired only for the 360, which sucks for me since I only have PS3. Who knows a good stick modder in the Bay Area who’s willing to dual mod to PS3 for a reasonable price? Also, I might be looking to flip a brand new Hori V3-SA. Anyone interested?
The Empire Arcadia Q3 is PS3 wired
Down with the Empire. D=
So they’ve fixed the other machine at SGL and I’ve been able to go there twice and play and I’ve gotten mixed results I seem to be winning about 70% of my matches, but I am not sure if the reason why I am losing is because I am adjusting to playing on a stick or because I’ve lost anti air headbutt. Anyway I’m thinking of getting a stick and I’ve started to have gotten used to the sticks that are in the machine cabinets which I’ve been told are more like the championship edition as opposed to the standard edition I have. Should I just buy a new stick or get my standard edition buttons replaced? Also how has everybody been and I think I may be switching my main to Geif.
shameless plug
I think the cheapest deal on a stick you can get right now is buying my MVC 2 Madcatz TE for $60 (whose only drawback is that the button placement is “type B” in SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4).
That said, we’ve been okay and I think Ryan was pretty satisfied with the Gief changes… especially the jab SPD range.
========
IN ANY CASE, thanks for the info Tao; I’mma just switch out and use Paypal to pay for the thing.
I guess my only question at this point is that, if there is left over money, can I [quickly] return it to my account or is it stuck in Paypal?
EDIT:
Er, wait, I think Qanba needs to be on hold right now given that I’ve run into misc. expenses; ffffffuuu–
I guess I might wait for Q4 after all.
Okay, as discussed in my text earlier, I seem to have run into the problem of not being able to switch my MVC3 pre-order over to the PS3…
Mainly because they’ve stopped accepting pre-orders for the special edition.
The immediate concern right now is the DLC: does anybody know how long it’l take for non-LE people to get the DLC characters?
Are they gonna do stupid shit like making Jill and Shuma-Gorath exclusive to pre-order people for 4 weeks?
I’d… really not like that…
ALSO, I’m lending Chris my X-Box, but I won’t be able to lend him the hard-drive given that I have too many credit cards attached to that thing and I’m not sure if I could remove everything without canceling my XBL service…
That said, my question now is: will Chris be able to get the DLC without a live account?
Uh, yeah…
Need help researching all this stuff.
You can delete the player profile off the hard drive before lending it out (it’s a small file you can find in the system browser). That’s the only thing that carries any account info (including credit info). I’ve actually moved my profile off my hard drive and onto a memory card so I can log in on other Xboxes when I’m on the go.
To get the DLC, you have to get it from the Live Marketplace. You need a Live account to access that market place. It can be a silver (free) account and still acquire Jill and Tentacle-man. However, it’s very likely you’ll have to always log in with that account to use those characters.
Whaddup. The problem with SE sticks in addition to the parts is the lack of any weight, so if you plan to upgrade your SE to sanwa, I highly recommend looking into adding weight to it as well. A friend of mine used fishing weights, you can also use a roll of pennies, or adhesive balancing weights if you want to be fancy!
MvC2 stick for 60 bucks is a good deal though!
I’ll still have my X-Box live account when it’s off the hard drive though, right?
That said, the only thing that needs to be settled now is whether or not we can have access to DLC day 1…
I’ve only got regular edition for MVC3 on PS3 pre-ordered right now.
