Is tonight just a Shadoloo henchmen (past and present) showdown, or will there be casuals as usual?
There are casuals too, though we’re starting late around 5, since last night’s session at shytzoo’s kind of travelled all the way until the sun was back up and everyone seemed pretty zonked out except for Bing who had super coffee running through his veins!
GGs to everyone last night, I’ll bring acetaminophen or tylenol or something next time I’m doing 5-20 dollar money matches, I’m not a fan of feeling like my brain is turning inside out. X_X
I actually think I learned more from my mirror matches with Bing last night than in the last few months, it really helped me understand how to use gauge to become a stronger player with Rog in Super.
It’s so early.
Are you guys set with equipment? I was only planning on bringing my stick, but can bring more if necessary.
It’s always good to take an extra copy of super if you have it.
GGs today, team what’s a kick was on a massive streak, though I have to credit a ton of the win to your captain making DKL an outcast for picking up Rog, forcing him off team FMB! XD
Great games today everyone! I of course would be down for more Marvel set ups and practice, but had fun with super as well!

Team Cammy v Team Boxer results
5v5 Round-Robin, best of 5 rounds.
Team Boxer - 16 wins
Team Cammy - 8 wins
One tie due to Chrisis mirror match that ended in triple draw by timeout
Boxer MVPs
Chrisis 4-0-1
Haibing 4-1
DKL 4-1
Cammy MVPs
Kinematic 4-1
Chrisis 2-2-1
Cammy goes home salty…
Good games, the results aren’t what I wanted, but the matches were way more fun than I expected (I had high expectations). Balrog/Cammy is a hard matchup for the Killer Bee and it was a great learning experience playing against several Boxers and their different playstyles.
EDIT
Thanks to everyone who participated, you guys rock!
I only knew two combos:
lp lp lk dash straight and mp dash straight…
I must’ve only landed head-butt ultra a few times.
ANYWAY, good stuff over the last few sessions guys; I’ve been having a ton of fun even if I’ve been too lazy to post in detail about anything (DAMN YOU LETHARGY).
That said, I get experience for “walking” in Rune Factory.
This game is awesome.
THAT SAID, I shall try to level up my Rose game and MCV2 (which I haven’t had the opportunity to play recently) for next Saturday… I need to move my X-Box back into my room…
ALSO ALSO, shoutouts to Tao for lending Zaku his X-BOX.
ALSO ALSO, GGs to new ond old faces that showed up; LET’S FIGHT LIKE GENTLEMEN.
ALSO ALSO, fuck Dudley :v
ALSO ALSO, shoutouts to Shytzoo being an awesome host; expect to see us again in January!
I was 2-2-1 not 2-3 as Cammy, I lost to Bing and DKL, and tied with myself. XD I should have done better, I’ve failed you Delta Red! D:
Practicing your MCV2? That’s Mega Combo Victories! I expect this next weekend to be filled with nothing but:

Hopefully I’ll counter with:
fixed
I really want to play with you guys but I hardly check the thread anymore. That said, I have a favor, could someone assign themselves to badger me to head out with you guys? Get me to answer the phone(IE: don’t just text me), I now have my own car(no longer borrowing the girlfriends, yay!) so I would also be able to get around to make battle in distant lands. Also, it would keep me from leveling out too quick now that Cataclysm is out and I promised myself I’d explore the world more before starting the end-game stuff since I took that stuff for granted before the world got destroyed.
I thought Efren was calling you up yesterday, so I didn’t call, but, yes, I will remind you whenever we go out to stuff.
ALSO, I need your number since I was stupid and deleted all my contacts.
Just text me and I’ll save your contact info (identify yourself as Jorge).
GGs Saturday night! It was cool to see so many people there to get some fights in. And sorry again to everyone who had to fight my shameful Hakan. XD
We need to learn the Hakan matchup :awesome.gif:
I need to learn how to play Hakan properly… Ono was right when he said Hakan has unlimited potential, it’s just difficult to understand how to utilize that potential in so many situations.
What it really comes down to is me spending the time to learn match-ups more intimately like I have with Zangief. The areas where it gets difficult for Hakan seem to be A) getting out of high pressure situations without taking a ton of damage, B) dealing with frequently airborne opponents, C) applying pressure with the correct variation of normals, pokes and specials and D) figuring out how Oil Dive can be consistently useful… After reading that list I seem to be getting myself in for a lot.
But learning Zangief posed similar difficulties I just have the luxury of a few thousand games with him, something I’m sorely lacking with Hakan.
I’ve studied the Hakan tutorial video pretty closely, at this point it just looks like practice, practice, practice.
Guys, Rune Factory is like crack: it’s animal crossing combined with harvest moon combined with [insert random action JRPG here]…
Game is amazing; I CAN’T STOP PLAYING.
PS3 owners should buy this when it comes out in America:
I know I am.
I thought that ultra 2 and a juggle from his air-to-air into slide were pretty good with dealing with this, but I might be wrong.
Your Hakan isn’t shameful he’s glorious! I can’t wait to get in more matches of that and convert you to the glory that is Marvel versus Capcom 2! I’d be happy to help you design some spiffy gief based teams in there he actually has a lot of really dirty tricks DHCing in and as an assist.
I hit the fast fly combo! ZOMG Sentinel+Capcom or Sentinel+Dhalsim+corner is so scary 0 gauge over half life, ridiculously fast.
Ultra 2 works when it’s available but it feels more like a solution to get him out of the corner since the damage output is so low. His jumping strong juggle will only work from a forward jump and it’s difficult to get into the air if his opponent is on top of him… Standing fierce and forward strong seem to be the best options but their hitboxes are very, very strange.
I just feel like when I play Hakan I have to guess what would be the best answer in too many situations, that makes me really uncomfortable.
Gief teams would be cool but I really need to get a lot of the basics down (again) to get back into MvC2. I’ve never really had human opponents to play against so playing online is kind of a joke for me, i.e. how fast can my opponent burn through my team… (^o^);;;
I’d be open to bringing my PS3 with MvC2 loaded (I have 2 sticks), but the last time I suggested that I heard word EU gets weird about bringing hardware like that…
Aww, I didn’t get a chance to fight your Hakan!
For anti-air, remember Hakan has the fastest air throw in the game (2 frame startup), and has a faster jump startup compared to Gief. Just jump neutral or back and immediately press grab, that’ll catch most crossup attempts. Another good air defense option is to Oil Slide underneath the jump in, you wont hit them but you’ll reset the situation (and also escape the corner). When oiled up, you can take advantage of being able to wiggle while focus charging. Theoretically, combined with crisco cancelling, you can absorb a jump-in, and backdash cancel a fast normal to stuff the opponents followup and setup a tick throw. Or you can space the focus absorb such that the opponents followup attack will whiff and you can punish with lv2 focus possibly.
