The BERKELEY EUDEMONIA Legacy (relocating to the SFSU Dojo thread!)

Since you are already established at EUdemonia, just set aside a date for a BBCS tournament. This is only to build up your local Blazblue scene. It will be nowhere near the same size as NCI, but you can use NCI’s name to host a mini-tournament monthly ranbat.

Just do this:

  1. Set a date (like the last Friday of the month)
  2. Pick a time (4:00pm)
  3. Get organized (charge like $5 total; $3 for venue and $2 for entrance)
  4. Do the tournament (If less than 8 people, then do a Round Robin. If more than 8 people, then do a bracket).

We can teach you the specifics about how to run a tournament. Ultimately, it’s for you and your scene’s benefit. The more experience you get with running these gigs, the more hype events you can host. I understand time constraints suck (I’m at the same predicament). If you know of any other people who want to host stuff, then nominate them and I’ll give them a chat.

Here’s the long term vision, “Once you establish the top 3 players in your region, then bring them to the BLAZING NCI REGIONAL TOURNAMENT Major.”

  • Sac Crew
  • South Bay
  • East Bay
  • SLO Cal
  • SoCal
  • East Coast
  • Reno Crew
  • PNW

The idea is similar to the SSF4 BATTLE OF THE BAY

The only issue I can see arising at this point is whether or not EU will actually sign off on a smaller event than something like INSTALL; I talked to Dean during the thing and he was actually a little weary about having smaller venues regularly (in which we would get access to the back and be allowed to bring setups); INSTALL was a little different since it was both streamed and a major event.

Yeah, Taozen Force sent an e-mail recently with regards to the “bring our own setups” issues, but we haven’t gotten a reply from Dean yet… so, at this point, I’m actually not sure what’s going on.

Can’t make it today, school took over. =[

I’m down to run some ssf4 ranbats. 2 setups run what? 64 bucks for the whole day? As long as we can cover the fee for the setups everything else after that could go to a weekly pot for the top 3. If everything goes better than expected we could save up to give away a bonus at the end of the season.

God damn it, the only thing showing at Japantown tomorrow is the shitty live-action Death Note movies; FML.

I’ll probably just buy manga and then head back to the Metreon/Bloomingdale’s in order to watch a movie.

EDIT:

Oh, neat, Scott Pilgrim and Inception are still showing.

You missed out on the epic Vega player; I COULDN’T DO ANYTHING.

Hmm, wasn’t me. I’ll have to find this player and face off mirror match style… SINCE THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE HIGHLANDER.

Sup guys, this is Patrick aka spark the Rufus player from tonight. Just wanted to say GG’s to everyone. That Vega player was awesome, I definitely leveled up on my Vega match up.

Good games everyone! Enjoy ya’ll holiday!

Good games people. Man, I still need to learn… well pretty much everything with Rose >.<

As for the BBCS tournament thing, if the turnout is really that small, we may be able to do it during game nights, since most of the entries are probably gonna be the people at game night anyways XD

GONNA PICK UP DAT CHUN-LI; fffffffffffffff–

That said, the only problem I see with doing BBCS ranbat at animu game night is that we will need lagless setups…

I have no idea how to coordinate that stuff as it’s in Dwinelle and it’s far from any conceivable parking area (we would need someone to drive the monitors to the back of Dwinelle and then pick it up).

first saturday night eu session for me was tightttt.

GGs sergio - i really enjoy those long sessions of grinding out a specific match up over and over again… crazy intensive footsie battles son! i was impressed over the fact that as the night went on we both got more and more tired but your links only seem to get tighter and tighter hah.

GGs spark - the rufus/vega matchup is so bipolar lol! it’s tense for me throughout because 1 mistake = no escape and i heard it’s really frustrating for throughout for the rufus to get in

shoutouts to the well-traveled blanka player, funkiespacemonkey for always being entertaining constantly getting hyped behind the other monitor, and especially DKL for bringing out your suitcase full of TE’s and setting these sessions up.

i’ve been playing sf all over the bay area (sjsu, milpitas golfland, sfsu, concord shadowbrook, san rafael starbase, tracy, san ramon area) and i’ve got to say saturday night eudemonia is definitely one of the chillest places i’ve been to… i’ll definitely try to make it out on sat nights more often.

I fear the Vega now, fo sho.

As I expected, that TvC tourney had a small turnout. 8 people participated…

And I didn’t even participate on it since they changed the starting time for the tourney and it overlapped with the Steve Blum signing session, so I had to drop out. I bought a copy of Wolf’s Rain and got Steve to sign it. Liam O’Brien was also there, but I didn’t know he was also in Wolf’s Rain as a random soldier so I didn’t get him to sign it… :frowning:

BUT, good news is that MaNoel got 3rd place! He didn’t win any prizes though… 2nd place got like 3 bucks, and 1st place got 14 bucks and a figurine.

Tell me how many entrants you guys get. IMO, you should do a round robin.

Who’s down for some xbox live casuals tonight?

I’m down, I’ll be on around 8pm.

Let’s go people! Rufio, kontrad1cti0n, and me are on. The more the merrier!

All the fun is on XBL…

Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff–

School.

@EddieMcZee good games man; you really got that Juri matchup down after all those games last night.
