Why, what happened?
It was like a no-go…
And that was the end of it.
(though, Tao is gonna try sending an e-mail)
I’m kinda wiped, really…
We should all send e-mails and petition for a venue…
Did a draft of my diplomatic email to Dean during my lunch break. Haven’t sent it yet as I’m not sure I touched on everything. Everyone, please read it over (carefully) and let me know what you think! I’ll probably send it out tomorrow morning.
I like it, but we might need to make a new thread over at Eudemonia’s website or something as this thread has several spots where I’m just spamming…
…
I mean, it’s not a good look; lawlz.
EDIT:
Or at least give me a chance to edit several posts…
…
But I’m so lazy right now; nooooooooooooooooooooooooo–
EDIT EDIT:
ALSO, I forgot to mention:
One of the main reasons why us taking up space every week is troublesome is because the space in the back is usually on hold for people who play BOARD GAMES… so, we have to think about that issue as that use for the space is a long-established trend.
EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Actually, let’s think about the numbers:
As it was, the shop was making roughly $16 + 3 other logins at the X-Boxes…
Let’s pretend that 4 people got day passes, so that’s 16x4 = $64…
If we were to somehow get a venue every week that could make more than that much money without using the shop’s gear, they would probably be more open to bringing our own setups…
So, we would need to do something like $5-6 and get 20 people on board…
But this HAS to happen weekly; I don’t know where we’re going to find 20 regulars as the most we’ve done is like 15-20…
Ah, damn…
Well, at $5 and there being like 10 people, that’s like $50…
Anyway, yeah, we gotta think about the numbers too…
I’d imagine EU would like to make MOAR money off of us than they currently are
I think during most of our sessions, the D&D area has been completely neglected save for a few special events like the SC2 Tourney and the more recent NCI. I think either having us put setups there or moving some of the MTG and board gamers in that area, should be a win-win scenario.
If EU has a more standardized pricing model for free play, getting twenty people on a weekly basis should be easy (we’re already doing very close to that). Our thread has been more busy than ever, and there’s a number of curious folk posting here to see what we’re about.
How about having a fee for each setup that we bring? Depending on how many people show up then we divide the amount among everyone.
And then like have a sign up sheet or something to keep track of how many people we get. If we get more than 20 people then they can charge extra, or they can just deny that person their right for entertainment ;_;
Also, I just got Metroid Other M! Awesomes!
I AM ABOUT TO PLAY THE GAME AS WELL; WILL IT HAVE BOOB JIGGLE?
Lawlz.
That said, the main goal is to get the sign-up fee from around $3-10 per person… maybe somewhat less than $10…
I’m really okay with any price (as I’ve been going at $16 a week), but we need something that will attract the right amount of people and bring in the right amount of money.
You sure you don’t want me to link Dean to this thread? We’re so merry here!
I Kinda want to play Metroid, but don’t own a Wii. I ragequit Mafia 2 and have no desire to play it again. Only games I’m looking forward to atm is Castle Crashers (PS3) and Shank (waiting for PC release).
Fuck, this game [Metroid] needs 3D control; I can’t remember the last time I used a d-pad to move a character [in a game where you move in 3-dimensions] around.
What’s wrong with it?
(besides stories of horrible NPC AI)
THAT SAID, I think I’ll pick up DEAD RISING 2 next month; it has co-op and co-op zombie killing sounds awesome.
This is clearly the classiest thread on SRK [outside of the Dudley forum].
Email sent, we’ll get Dean’s take on the matter soon, I hope.
Main thing Mafia 2 bothers me with is the missions; they’re all old-hat, silly, and arbitrarily difficult.
Regardless of whether EU is making less money off our group or not I think it’s still in their better interest to offer us the proposed model because other people will be able to rent out the stations we would have been occupying. That way, no matter what sort of fee is associated with us renting out their space, they have a higher profit capacity for the day.
No matter how hard it may be it’s nothing compared to demon’s souls. I started that game a couple days ago and it is by far the hardest game I have ever played. After the tutorial level, the first stage took me two hours to finish. That wasn’t because it was long, but because I kept dying and starting over. Awesome game nonetheless haha
Demon Soul’s is easy
Kidding, I was hooked into that game for 4 months. It’s not really THAT hard, it just punishes you for not knowing stuff. Black phantoms invading your game is some intense stuff. Even during the more harrowing moments, the game remains fun. Can’t say the same for Mafia 2…
I remember falling down in a cave where you have to carefully drop on beams in order to not fall to your death…
It was like FML when I screwed up, then I died in that same place right before retrieving my souls (the motherfucker was on a beam or something, so of course it was going to be a little hard to get it back); Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff–
If they make a sequel, there needs to somehow be co-op play where you don’t need to summon demons (but you can still summon demons, so it’s like this weird 8-player co-op of demons and humans), then we can all play together and it’ll be hilarious when we die.
Or, I don’t know, I just want to be able to actually play the game with friends over PSN, as opposed to random strangers (not that it wasn’t interesting to have a game work like that).
THAT SAID, I propose epic games when LITTLE BIG PLANET 2 comes out; bring your Street Fighter costumes.
Anyone do any PvP in Demon Soul’s before? It’s almost becomes a completely different game, the combat’s amazingly deep, wished it had some sort of offline/LAN capability though.
Grinding for Pure Bladestone, so i could get the last of the weapon trophies, was definitely NOT fun (don’t think i ever did get that bladestone sigh)
Like when a Demon invaded you?
…
It was cool when I was with people… it was lame when I got killed.
I second this, lbp is ridiculous fun, especially slapping people to various deaths. Even when it happens to you it’s funny. Whats the release date for lbp2? Wait, do you have a ps3 DKL?
is this the dueling mode? i’m kind of curious how it works along with the co-op since i haven’t tried it out yet and it is kind of presented confusingly. Speaking of pvp, i’ve been looking around for what a decent character build might look like and they all are geared towards pvp. Anyone have any info on how i should be upgrading my character i feel sort of lost with all the options
Yes.
And I think it comes out in November…
It’s likely going to be game of FOREVER; I won’t even need to buy new games and I’ll just wait for someone to port it to LBP2.
THAT BEING SAID, Metroid: Other M is REALLY great… it’s so much fun, despite some issues with playing a 3D movement game with a d-pad…
Focus on building Endurance, Faith, and Vitality, those are important regardless of your playstyle or class. Don’t waste any points on Luck, high luck makes it wayyy harder to obtain rare drops (but you’ll get lots of green crescent grass early on). Invest in the other stats as you get more savvy about the game, designing a DS build is much like picking a main in SSF4
You may have saved me some great pain. I was beginning to follow a thief build i found and that had you sink a lot of points into luck haha thanks for the warning. I think I will go with spear as a primary weapon im really liking how you can block and attack at the same time. Heres to hoping Seth doesn’t learn to do this when ssf4 comes out in arcade lol.
