46 second: He kept jumping in the corner dash towards him and use a cannon spike to AA him instead of doing a jump throw. It has been said many time and I will say it again Hooligan throw is unsafe it is more a novelty use it to catch them off guard or it least less often in general.
1:06: Learn to use your cannon spike fadc ultra combo instead of throwing it out randomly like you did at the
1:42: He kept jumping in and you had two bars AA him out of his jump and FADC back if is safe jumped and there was no reason for you to use an EX cannon spike at the 1:43 mark.
1:47 If he wants to runaway like a bitch let him do your air cannon strike and build meter in fact do that as often as possible whenever they want to run away especially instead of taunting or running back; they will not let you build full meter.
3:05: Your pattern if obvious with dealing with fireballs you block and block and wait for your hooligan throw opportunity mix it up a bit more against ryu with focus absorbs dash forward and doing your spinning knuckle.
3:11: Why did you do those random spinning knuckles?
I’m not a cammy player so I can’t really make to much sense of everything you are doing but it did seem you need to work on your links and you still like to try and mash out DP when you don’t have two bars to FADC out.
Has any determination been made about SSFIV on Saturday night? Any insight into that, because I’m down to head over to E. Hondamonia to meet the regulars but I’d be much more inclined to attend if we can get some SSFIV/3S/Battle Arena Toshinden casuals in. (^o^);;;
Honestly BB and GG severely bore me so if there isn’t room for Hippo savanna solar eclipse beatdowns, I’ll probably just stop by quickly to meet people…
Assuming that none of the shop’s X-Boxes are commandeered by the event (which I doubt since it’s cheaper to have their own setups), we will actually be doing SUPER and maybe 3S if two more people rent another X-Box.
My main suggestion to you would be to stop trying to connect the c.LP/c.LK combos and start trying to connect c.HP to c.MK to fierce spiral arrow. The timing is a little bit more difficult, but the damage output is much higher (since there’s less hits to scale and each hit will do more damage) and you set yourself up for some VICIOUS combos if you FADC the spiral arrow. You have the setup for this combo down, I saw you land it a few times with your wakeup cross ups and even with a few of your cannon strikes.
Otherwise good match with some scary psychic air throws.
They’ve been running me $16 a week for the last 1-2 months…
It’s even more expensive for people who have to BART down here…
So, yeah, restructuring the meets to make things cheaper is a good thing… but we need to figure out how we’re going to transport all this gear; TVs are the main problem and, while Zaku and his brother are willing to store stuff, we can’t just put all of the burden on them.
I’ll talk to Dean tomorrow and see if he’ll store TVs for us…
As it turns out I’ll have a car this weekend (and for subsequent meets), so if Zaku is reasonably close to EU I’d be willing to provide a ride to transport equipment.
Zaku has his own car, actually, and he only lives like 1 mile from the meet…
But they expressed difficulty in transporting one of the TVs (the CRT one that got thrown out)…
I wanna use that TV since I have a converter thing for it (from RF to the red-white-yellow thing), but it’s HUGE…
That being said, no need for gear this week… next week is when we need to get stuff together (I haven’t even had a chance to drop by COSTCO yet… and I need to go to RADIOSHACK as well to get surge protectors).
The problem with the CRT TVs is mainly transportation. As of now, I see that we have 3 TVs: Rufio’s, Tao’s, and mine.
I should have enough room to store all 3 TVs if needed, but that is just too much equipment to move around, especially since I live on the second floor and there’s an extra flight of stairs to the garage…
If one of the TVs is small enough, then I can put it down inside a closet in the garage, but it’s still a lot of work. Hopefully EU agrees to store the TVs.
Is Rufio donating his TV to EU? Maybe they’ll be more willing to accept the TVs if we donate them. We can give Rufio and my TV to EU and then Tao’s TV I should be able to bring regularly to the meets.
Someone asked about whether or not they are okay with our own setups. I didn’t find a yes or no answer (but to be honest I haven’t read through the whole thread yet). If they are cool with us bringing in stuff, I could bring my PS2 in with two sticks (when I go).
We’re planning to start bringing our own setups come September. What kind of sticks do you have for PS2? Have an extra display you can bring? Either way, it’d be great if we can free up one of our X360’s for another copy of SSF4 or BBCS.
Plus, I’m to understand that an un-emulated version of 3S will be better.
That said, yeah, we don’t actually need setups this week because there isn’t enough space for us in the NORCAL INSTALL event (we’re just renting out the store’s X-Boxes this week instead); next for sure.
Also, if enough people bring sticks, I’m thinking of hoping over to play SKULL GIRLS; seems interesting.
Honestly, yeah, I’d be willing to donate them to the shop if they did a thing where they stored it for us and just made sure to let us have access to it on Saturdays…
But I can’t imagine them finding any kind of practical application for having those TVs laying around outside of our own use, so using the space might trouble them…
Actually, what we could do is get people down to your apartment/home and then help with moving the gear in and out…
But I dunno.
In terms of walking distance, how far is your place from EU?
10-20 minutes?
(But then, we usually might now have enough people on hand to help, depending on when everyone leaves… that’s another thing we need to sort out: schedules)
I think it’s still worth talking to them about. Maybe we can negotiate some deal, where we can charge a little more than $3 to cover storage fees. Or maybe they’re so cool, they’ll let us store TVs there for public use (other people can bring consoles during the week and have there own fun).
Yeah my place is about 20 mins walking distance from EU, so I guess that’s a possibility. however, the main problem with bringing all the stuff is that its just annoying, rather than needing people to do it >.>
Another thing I was thinking about bringing our own set ups… What happens if some of the people taking stuff for x reason can’t make it that week? It seems that we might be short a few set ups in that case. I guess we could always just rent the store’s consoles for that meet or something, but it might be something we wanna think about.
Unfortunately after talking to my boss today, looks like I’ll be busy for the next couple of weeks. I’ll definitely make it out sometime since I work at UCB. As for sticks, I have an HRAP2:SA and a custom with Happ parts. To be honest, though, the custom is only okay (it’s too light so it shifts a lot when you play). As for displays, that would be a bit trickier. How would you guys managed walking from my car with a bunch of electronics without getting mugged?
