I’ve been trying to find a place to play casuals in SF but this is the only thread where people seem to meet up weekly. I can’t go this friday but if anything is going on next friday (the 9th) i’m down to go.

Dropped by today and had a talk with the manager:
As of now, he’s still having to think out the issue we’re having with the head count vs. per x-box charge… I really want it to be so that the charge goes PER X-Box, but he has to think it over.
So, for all intents and purposes, uh… yeah, people showing up this Saturday might want to set up accounts just in case; I don’t know how strict the enforcement will be, but if at all possible, please log in at the main counter as to not throw too much suspicion on us.
Disappointing, I know, but we’re trying to work something out right now.
That said, we now officially have priority over the X-boxes every Saturday, so long as I warn them in advance when I intend to not show up (but that doesn’t mean other people can’t show up).
With regards to the brining your own stuff: widescreen monitors may be up for rent in the future as the manager was very keen on the idea of having a bunch of STREET FIGHTER setups in the shop…
If I understood it right, he was interested in having setups where you could bring your own sticks and PS3s and whatnot, but I don’t know how long it’s going to take for him to implement this and whether or not it’s something that’s actually set in stone.
Anyway, yes… uh… the best thing we can do right now to solve the pricing issue is to have a bunch of regulars show up; if the shop sees that we’re serious about it, I’m pretty sure we can get it sorted out as soon as possible.
I’m not fond of the head count pricing mainly because it’s harder to get new people on board; the last thing we need to be doing is to marginalize newbies from an already kinda niche hobby.
That said, there’s also interest in doing BLAZBLUE; I’m all for it, naturally…
New game comes out next month and I’ll likely be dragging that copy with me to the Saturday meets.
