Is it possible to add new games to the list on MAME that aren’t there already?
There are some hacked 0.64’s that allow newer games like Power Instinct Matrimelee, but I don’t have any links for you.
Can you hook a joystick (arcade stick) to that adapter? Or is that only for pads?
What if I wanted to do that?

depending on the game you’re trying to play, you might not have the required parent roms.
I need help changnig neo-geo games to home/console style. I play mark of the wolves all the time and sometimes people will change it. Whenever I try it doesn’t work. When they do do it, it shows up in the chat log. Any help please? I’m on Mame32k.64.

Hey FB I really appreciate this guide, but the adapter you recommended is killing me. It doesn’t seem to work with my HRAP, like the inputs can’t come in too fast or the moves won’t execute. Anything I can do to fix it (unlikely) or can anyone recommend an adapter they KNOW works (like one of those Super Joy Box things on play-asia.com?) with a HRAP? Or is it a hopeless cause trying to get one that works?
EDIT: I really wish I would have read EVERY post in this forum. I would have seen that other ppl have had similar problems, but there’s still no answer. You might want to include this info about joysticks/the adapter in the guide, cuz that’s all I read.
How do you unlock people? Like I just got UMK3 and the three middle characters are locked. I remember there was a way to unlock them long time ago (besides the stupid real way) but I just could quite figure it out. Can someone give me a hand?

I finally got Mame working and it runs great until I play someone using K. Tried playing SSF2T last night and the game ran extremely fast for me. I mean so fast that it was unplayable. And this was at default speed 1. How do I fix this?

Alright, I recently installed mame .64 and I have a PSX to USB adapter (Not that one, but one from radio shack. I can’t find it on their site however.) and when I use it, the controller is messed up (square is jab, X is strong, triangle is lk, O is fierce and what not) if there anyway I can change this within mame? If I can actually configure the joystick I can make it work but it seems to just have the option to use the joystick or not.
Is there anyway to configure it within Mame?
hit tab while in a game, go to input from there.
OK i have got a problem.
The emulator works fine but when i try to connect to the server list i receive the message “error requesting server list!” my friend gets the same message and the kaillera website seems to be down, I don’t know if this is related to the problems I’m having but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, is there an option in MAME32k .90 to playback kaillera input? Converting replay files seemed to go smoothly, but the replay will never play back correctly becuase you can only replay it as a standard non-kaillera replay file (it plays back the same exact way on .64 if I use the normal “playback input” option).
Is there some hidden option to playback kaillera input in MAME32k .90?
By converting do you mean using the converter on the DTZ page? A problem was discovered with it (something about spacing types) and the author is working on a fix.
Going from memory, I believe the author said the difference between the two replay formats is space between the actual input data, Mame 90 has more space than 64 (hence the filesizes are always bigger).
Random note: I personally have had problems getting Mame 90 to play back it’s own kaillera inputs. In one case (for Taisen Tokkae-dama) the NVRAM had to be deleted in order for it to sync (Thanks to Dreemer for the suggesstion on that one too).
I’m having a serious problem(probably not serious at all…). Um, for some reason, I can’t change anything using the tab button. No menu pops up…
EDIT: Nevermind, I just deleted the mame and downloaded it again. all is working.
A better way to fix that is to go to the cfgwin folder and delete default.cfg. It will recreate it when you load mame.
theres almost never a need to delete mame itself. Just delete the config files like Emil suggested.
