Yes, there is another league season coming but it was supposed to have started this month along with the Judgement tournaments but all of it has been postponed until the renovations from changing the store into a gaming pub is completed. Tentative date as of right now is slated for next month. As to what the game will be, it was supposed to be WWE-All Stars but that looks like it’s going to be change in the wake of all the recent new games coming out. Current League games up for suggestions are:

• WWE-All Stars
• KOFXIII
• SSX
• SCV

These are all off the top of my head so don’t take them seriously as of now. I’ll have to reconfirm everything with Mike & Jason when I speak to them to find out what their going to do. Also people, don’t forget that the GTSouth “Players Ball” is still slated for April as well.

Sorry to intrude, but I thought I would inform/remind you guys that there is a tournament in the Memphis, TN area (Horn Lake, MS) this weekend. It’ll be featuring UMvC3, SSFIV:AEv2012, KoF XIII, and SCV. There’s a minimum of a $200 pot bonus split between the games. This is the T&G Throwdown #2. The last one in September we had almost 40 people.

Apparently MLG is now claiming the rights to King of Fighters content on youtube, to me that seems like a likely indicated that it is being picked up, this is supported by the fact MLG said they were 99% likely to get another fighting game, and when you remove capcom games (won’t work with MLG atm) the only big 2 left are soul caliber 5 and KOF XIII. Some of you may know about the fighting game communities rocky reception of MLG, and right now they are freaking out thinking that this means that MLG will be taking down grassroots tournament footage of the game, which is why they are scared of working with MLG in the first place. If anyone else knows how/why they would have the rights to the game please share them, I am not really sure how all that stuff works.

Also, everyone should try CSE. Even if you tried an earlier BB entry and didn’t like it, I urge everyone in this thread to give it another shot. The game has improved greatly through the revisions and is definitely worth playing. JBBS is already saying it could be the most balanced 2D fighter ever and it’s rock solid. The new modes/features are cool too. CSE–it’s a good game!

Next time I come to Auburn, we’re going to play some high stakes games. I’ll put on the line a Cammy cos player and a Zangief cos player if you can put down 3k. How can you compare baseball to tier whoring. I mean baseball is like an RPG. You level your chars up, they get better stats, and then they go play. I mean it doesn’t matter how many times you play a game, if your char doesn’t get better the more you play with it. You had no control over what your char that you mained did between nerfs/buffs.

I wasn’t comparing baseball to tier whoring. I was comparing two baseball franchises at two opposite ends of the economic spectrum to tier whoring.
One team has every tool/money at their disposal. As would any top tier character. Example SF4 Akuma. The other has limited tools/money but is still somewhat competitive. Example SSF4 Rose. As with sports and fighting games you choose which team/character you root for/play with.

Tier whoring = scrub excuse for losing/placebo for making scrubs think they’re better than they actually are.

The same character select screen is available to everyone and therefore completely fair, but don’t think “better” characters will make you a better player. Top tiers don’t spend hours in training mode for you. They don’t learn matchup strategies for you. They don’t improve your yomi for you. The only person who can make you better is YOU.
