Now, Congrats to all on a great league season. The Finals were Friday night for the Fall 2011 season. It was an exciting night, with teams battling it out for over $1300 in prize money and a crapload of pizza. In the end, “Chicken and Watermelon” (Auburn/Montgomery Players) outplayed “Team Magical Stuff” (Selma Players) to win the Fall 2011 Title and take home ~$850, Team Magical Stuff took 2nd and ~$455 in prize money. Grats to all the teams on your hard work and dedication to the league. We learned a lot and are making changes to make the league even better the next time around. We will have more news on 2012 leagues soon including a WWE All Stars Monday Night League as well as other fighting ones that will begin in or around February after we make the conversion from Game Store to Gaming Tavern.
Yes, you read that right, our gamers are going to be getting their drink on as we move the game store aspect to the back and double our available play station areas in the front complete with bar. We’ll still have games for sale and special orders and having tourneys during the day but after about 4 or 5pm each night it is 21 and over as the bar opens up and folks can game and drink the night away. We feel this move will generate more income for the store and allow us to offer a lot more bonus cash and such for tournaments and leagues to really make them great. We’ll update everyone more when we get closer to February on league/tourney dates and games. We’ll be posting some polls on the website in January after our website revamp to see what folks want to play.
Thanks to everyone again for their support and participation in the 2011 Fall Super Street Fighter IV AE League Season, we are truly appreciative to the Bama Scene for allowing us a place in their ranks. It is because of you guys that we continue to love what we do.
