It’s Geeks n Gamers, but they’ve collaborated with GTSouth on the fighting game tournaments at this event, thank god.
Someone fill me in on the history, here.
Who do you guys think is a better over all character?
Nemesis, or GhostRider
And why?
Nemesis, reasons:
- Broken ass hit boxes. Jumping H is sooooo good, some characters with slide cannot slide under it.
- Big body, takes up all of the screen.
- Range, his tentacles reach damn near fullscreen.
- Armor, almost all of his moves have armor.
- Hits like Wesley Pipes in a adult movie. He does INSANE damage.
- His supers are really good. The rocket launcher super is CRAZY good because if you don’t hit him before the 3rd rocket, he goes into the air similar to Hulk but his super auto tracks and can make which way to block ambiguous. Also, even if it hits, you’re right in the face of the opponent to DHC into more damage, or go for resets if you have the right assist.
- Can punish off an air-grab rather easily
- Life, he’s tied with the most life(or close to it) with Thor I think?
I found its kinda hard to punish nemesis without x factor, so when the person I know uses him on point, I snap him back and deal with him later. Nemesis with drones or beams is just too good on point, imo you have to kill him with X factor if you can’t get in, which is hard due to his j.H. He’s as hard to get in on as Taskmaster imo, but a tad better because at least a slide can hit task under his H if he’s coming down from a jump. Try that shit on Nem if you want to and you will be hurt by that j.H

I think the most viable all female team as of right now in UMvC3 is probably Felicia/Storm/Morrigan, but really the game as a whole seems much more balanced than vanilla. I mean besides the obvious Wesker/Vergil OPness, it feels like everyone is viable…besides Tron/Hsien still.
morrigan anchor xf3 with a few meters if you do all the flight shit is pretty much as dumb as dark phoenix she just has an execution requirement to do it. only way you will touch her after the initial entering the screen mixup is an execution failure on the part of the morrigan player

This up coming tournament will be good, because there will be alot of man’s butt in the room at one time.
I don’t think I’d ever seen a legitimately boring match of Marvel up until I started watching this “Big Two” stream where Dieminion decided to do back-to-back 50+ game second runaways against Phoenix… Certainly hadn’t seen a miserably boring Grand Finals up until that.
… 3 timeouts in a row, and technically 4 since the other match ended at 0 seconds >_>

thats the fault of phoenix existing as a character
G+Gs only cares about FPS. They threw fighting games in their last tournament just to raise venue fees. None of the G+Gs members officiated any part of the fg tourneys, nor did they supply any TVs or equipment. However, on the Black Ops side of things, they supplied a whole room full of large TVs and their tournament was run by several TOs. But with this tournament, they’ve teamed up with GTSouth to run the fighting game side of things, and they always run a legit tournament.

Isaac did pretty much everything by himself during the first tourney, including making out the bracket, filling it in, and calling out players to play each other.
However, I would much rather play on the TVs supplied by players rather than the 42 inch lag fest that must have been the Black Ops tournament.
Also, one of the fighting game players got mad because he got scrubbed out by Hulk and Hulked out on a bathroom stall.

I signed on with G&G to run the fighters at their events. GTS is only running KOF and WWE Allstars at this next event ,because there are supplying some equipment.
G&G supplied 3 completely setups for the last tourney , we only had 6 total. Mainly because we only needed 6.
Ppl who supplied setups got venue waived. Just like it will be this sat.

I got a PS3 with evo monitor and UMVC coming with me if I decide to make the trip.
It’s about 50/50 right now though, finals are next week and I’ve gotta see how my studying is going first.

Just thought I’d throw out something that’s been in the back of my mind regarding UMvC3:
Are our local tournaments going to turn the “auto super jump after launch” feature on or off by default, seeing as how there’s no way for opposing players to select different options for that? Just wondering if I should start practicing with it turned on.
