Hey looking to play some bama people on xbox live or in real life. I live in Anniston and play a scrub ass Dudley right now also a little cody. Also gonna try my best to go to that hamacon tournament never played one before.
I’ll throw you a friend request on XBL, Gambit. We can train together. I play a pretty scrubby Bison.
To everyone else, I’ll be on Xbox Live all week (Except for tomorrow night) so get at me with invites if you see me on. I feel the urge to level up my game and my Bison is garbage, so I’ve got mad work to do.
Anyone in H-town- I’m thinking about making a run to Game Galaxy this weekend. Get at me if you want a ride. I’ll drive but you gotta cover yourselves on everything else.
I’m gonna be off Tuesday through Thursday if anybody’s wanting to get some games in at my house. Anyone down? Thursday is my birthday, btw :bgrin:
I’m also gonna be on XBL over the next few days trying to level up my scrubby Gouken. I switched to him a few days ago after throwing in the towel with T.Hawk, and I’ve gotta say he’s a pretty fun character. He fits my playstyle much better and helps make the game a lot more tolerable.
I’m off on Wednesday so I’ll see what’s good man.
I’ll send you a Friend Request.
I got SATs, can’t go to Hamacon.
GGs to Gambit and everyone else who was in the room… sry i dropped… the storm here cut off my power
SF4 and drink night again on friday in auburn, everyone is invited. Let me know if you are from montgomery and need a ride. They are getting bigger each week and the scene in auburn is getting better and u don’t want to miss it!
u a bitch if u dont come
I’ll be there of course, and I’ll try to gather the crew to come along. A few of them feel very out classed so they might not come.
They shouldn’t be reluctant to come because they feel they are outclassed we talk a bunch of trash but never to the new people lol. Really I am holding these to increase interest in SF4, to help increase skill level in our area, and to have something fun and SF related everyone can come to on Fridays. Some ideas I might do if things keep picking up is doing a different setup in my room w/ like training mode and guidance from more experienced players, and MAYBE a cash prize at the end of each month for whoever comes over and beasts the most (not me included lol unless someone gonna pay me).
Also I am getting some pretty decent speakers for our main setup which should be in this week or next, so we can put on custom playlists on the PS3. And as always, refreshments and alcohol are provided and the more people come the better we will stock those =)
Bring your loudest most hype friends! Also of course even friends that are interested only in watching are welcome, anything to add to the community we are trying to build in the Auburn/Montgomery area is awesome.
goddamn lol wish we had that kinda stuff going on here in Huntsville lol. Can’t wait to get down to Auburn next year =/
It sucks not being able to drive.
lol, so much hype in Auburn. Kola is finally learning better fundamentals after picking up BB and Hisoutensoku. He’s like a little Pokemon, getting better and better. Already at the level of complaining how stupid Capcom is. I’ve done my job well. sheds single tear
Good ideas and I’m always interested in winning some cash. I try to help the guys that I know a bit, but I’m still learning myself. I got to beat that Gief of yours 1st and foremost. Playing against you has been improving my footsies a lot.
might have to try getting on psn since it is kinda hard to get people to meet somewhere
i really don’t like playing fighters online…even on ggpo
ps: hamacon
Me and Jesse are probably heading to Hama-con. The tournaments are free entry, right?
Mixed (I forgot your name >.<) you want in?
Also, I don’t suppose we might meet up somewhere after/before the con for some casuals?
I can’t 100% guarantee I’m going to Hama-con but I’ll look into it. I haven’t been playing Super lately (just kinda lost interest) so I know I’m gonna be free, but this kinda stuff is always fun regardless. Lemme think about it.
EDIT: I live like fiteen minutes away from where they’re holding the con so even if I don’t go you guys are more than welcome to come over before/after the tournament (depending on when it’s held) and get some casuals in. I can run at least two lag-free setups at once.
Hamacon SSF4 tourney pay to enter
we’ll have other games set up (even non-fighting games GASP)
saturday at noon is our fighting game 101 panel, that’s geared primarily toward people that a)only have marginal experience with fg and b)those who don’t know how to get better or are frustrated at losing. i play sf4 mainly, but i wanna come at the panel with a mentality of practice and etc. that’s universal to all games. if you guys are there by noon and don’t mind, i’d love to get feedback or input since you’re coming from a scene that has a much bigger presence than hville madison’s very sporatic application of fighters. i’d love to try and get some matches in if i’m not too busy as well
How much does it cost to enter SSF4/TvC/Smash bros?
Fighting game 101… sounds interesting…
Also, I really don’t want the Smash tournament to have items. It’s as legit a fighting game as any other even if it feels different. Just because it has the option of being a party game (items/shenanigans) doesn’t mean we can’t have something that respects its competitive value.
Also, I want Arcana Heart 3 in America!
i hate running smash tourneys but i ran them for 3 years in the proper format (at least whatever rules people wanted at the time regarding items, character selection and stage selection. man a lot of people are scared of counterpick!!). i tried to tell him that even though YOU don’t think it’s fun to play like that, the people that are showing up and entering a smash tournament DO. he’s not really an fg head so he doesn’t get it. i did tell him the importance of lagless setup, and gave him bracket software, and southern_gaijin will be in the room making sure he runs good tourneys.
I think that casuals and tourneys don’t mix, at least in this manner. the game i feel is not designed to be competetive (at least brawl isn’t, melee was another story i hear) but condescending to tournament players is something i wish he didn’t do on our forums. Also, if casuals want to get hurt over “competitive play” (which i thought was the purpose of a tournament anyhow) they can continue to play casuals which will be in the room and available probably the entire time. i’ve tried to talk to him, but i feel like the smash tourney is a wash. i guess i scared him with the horrors of how long the matches last and all the bs i’ve had to put up with over the years and is taking the lame way out! he’s going to see the low turnout and hopefully realize he made a mistake, but since i’ve moved on to run the whole thing i’m trusting him to learn that. He’s no stranger to running this sort of thing, he used to be my manager at Time Out Huntsville (RIP) so we’ll see…see this is the kind of talk i wanna have on my panel, just talking about competition and what it means and etc, because without guidance a lot of casuals just get frustrated and quit : D
ah3 would be great. power instinct festival would be great. us melty would be great. i hope that we get some less mainstream stuff over here.
