One, buying MK9 is never a good gameplan. Two, MvC3 already trades in for well less than $30. That’s what happens the second an expansion is announced.

Hey guys! Just wanted to inform you guys that “GTSouth” is now open…I repeat, GTSouth is now open. That’s all…
Nah, just kidding. I do have some interesting information regarding them though that you all might want to consider supporting them just as Skitz, Steve, & myself. Here’s the deal, we’ve just visited their store tonight and by far, the setup is pretty much the best I’ve seen so far. The store has multiple systems set up for free play and those of us in our scene are given special permission to come by at anytime to hang out and play as much as we want (it’s preferred that you come by on Saturday as they’ll stay open to the late hours if needed). The setups are BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller) so that’s a good thing. In regards fighting game tournaments, it’s unfortunate but they wont start until January due to financial reasons so that gives everyone ample amount of time to practice up and prepare for next year and we advise that you all do so as the tournaments will be held monthy but could possibly be held twice a month.
Everyone who attends the tournaments will be ranked in every game that they play…not just as a whole. Also, be advised that mainstream fighting games (IE: SSFIV:AE, MvC3, MK9) are not the standard for GTSouth. All games apply to the rankings meaning MvC2, Arcana Heart 3, BlazBlue, Tekken 6, etc. are all part of the ranking system. Also, GTSouth is looking into sponsoring the top players of the chosen games to attend other tournaments in the area or out of state in order to advertise them. Sponsored players will be helped by GTSouth to attend those tournaments (IE: Final Round, CEO, EVO). So if there is any reason to get on the ball and get good at your chosen games, now it is the time to do so. Aside from the monthly tournaments, there will be a annual finals held in which players whom rank all year round at GTSouth in whichever game they play will automatically be out of pools for the annual tournament giving newcomers whom walk-in a chance to make it out of the pools and into the top brackets. Players from Alabama are the only people who can be ranked & sponsored unfortunately as this is to help motivate newcomers & to help build the scene in Alabama.
We are currently keeping in close contact with the owners of GTS and was asked to relay this message to you all in order to get everyone to support them. We’re not shitting with this guys…this very legit and they seem to have everything they want to do planned out and they are seriously for the players. They also tournaments for Madden & Call of Duty (but they have another group that’ll run it) but GTSouth is only focused on fighting games. I’m serious guys, please…for the LOVE OF GOD, please support them. We have a new hangout on weekends now that the arcade is gone and yet this is far more better than the arcade as the store is right next door to Subway, walking distance from Winn Dixie, and the finals tournament will be held 4 door down from the actual store so you can be damn sure that I’ll be going there on Saturdays to show my support for the scene they want to help build and add onto what we’ve gotten so far.

thatandyguy, do you play on 360 pad? If you’re stick, we will have sticks, no problem.
And bring a PS3 because the tourney is on PS3 and we want multiple PS3 setups.
The 360 pad die hards (we have a few) are all going to be put into the same bracket. We are trying to get ahold of some PS2 pad converters for 360 so that a 360 pad player can play a PS3 pad player, but if this doesn’t end up happening the 360 pad player will have to default to PS3.
Problems are going to emerge if we bracket everyone other than the 360 pad players based on their preference. It just isn’t feasible in the amount of time we have to run the tournament.
