As of a few days ago, BBCS2 is officially out in Japanese arcades. The official console release date hasn’t been announced, but confirmed changes have already started rolling in:
Tager is likely S tier due to system changes related to guard break. Most characters only have two primers after left after one burst, while Tager has blockstrings that can break up to five primers. When he breaks your guard, he gets free 720 since it no longer counts as a purple throw. He also got some great buffs like 6A having super armor and being chargeable. Sounds pretty lulzy.
As for Hakumen, I’m just glad they reinstated his drive combos :woot: My opinions on his other changes are mixed. I agree with some stuff (non-CH Hotaru and JD nerfs) and I’m looking forward to other stuff (LOTS of his ground normals are now air unblockable, Yukikaze [counter super] doesn’t cause screen flash unless it successfully activates), but some things are somewhat… strange (guard primer reduced to 5 from 6, counter assault now does 6A motion [this is going to make Arakune a lot harder when cursed], it’s speculated that 6C is no longer chargeable). I’m not unhappy with any of his changes, but there are some that have me scratching my head.
I think the reduced frame advantage on instant block is a super huge buff for people like Tager and Makoto whose blockstrings could be interrupted with anything in CS1. I’m so happy for Tager, but 6A should not break primers.
Also, it seems most of the hit pause in the game is gone and certain moves have gotten faster making this game look hella fast in motion. I highly doubt it was the videos but the speed is crazy compared to CS1.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the hitlag. It’s super noticeable when you look at Makoto. Her drives had, like, 100 frames of hitlag.
And it completely baffles me on how they get the voice actors for their characters, but don’t have the announcer be of that persona.
VA: Do you want me to do this like I’m Taokaka?
Arc: Nah…nah… We want you to do this like you are extremely bored and part robot. Make sure to, and this is absolutely crucial, mispronounce every word and every character’s name. Don’t worry though, we’ll still advertise the voice set (“It’s Taokaka! Buy it!”) but omit the part about it being awful.
I like how Platinum looks so far.
btw, I’m not leaving for FAP2 until later today, (still can’t do ftw because of car johns) probably 7pm so if anyone wants to hang out…?
I had a friend gameshare it onto my PS3 and I still feel ripped off. It’s a bigger ripoff than $7 for a new character, or charging for costumes, on the basis that they lie to you. And one of the many reasons why I just can’t stand that damn game…I’d much rather play SSF4 over BB. Even Inuyasha: Feudal Combat looks more appealing at times. I don’t get it. The characters are kinda cool, it’s supposed to be accessible for hurr durr '09 scrubs like myself, and yet, I just plain don’t enjoy BlazBlue.
Hey, I’m usually around Auburn (and Auburn folks here know me) but now I’m in Huntsville for the break. I know there’s a scene around here, but where’s it at and what games do folks play?
So Official Bison Pressure? is pretty much ruined. No more lk+scissor pressure on wakeup, it will lose to DP and any other 4-frame (maybe 5-frame), and now you can only do like 2 of them before you’re out of range.
IMO Bison needed nerfs but not like this. Nerf j.FP dmg or rh startup time, not his main offensive tool. As if this game wasn’t fucking defensive enough…I’ll still main him, but it will be less fun for sure.
