Ah, nice to see some more people from the LAN making appearances. Hey Andy, I’m Josh, the guy that was playing Akuma in SF4. We talked for a little while here and there. For a while, we’ve been meeting up at my buddy Shawn’s (TeamGoldenAge here on the forums) place but my place isn’t too bad for gaming either. If anyone ever wants to get together, just let me know.
I think we could get together at my place Saturday if anyone in the Huntsville area wants to kick it (I live in the Madison county area). I have a huuuuuuge TV in the living room that won’t lag if we use VGA or HDMI cables and some other solid TV’s that won’t lag, either. As far as games go, I’ve got: Marvel 2, Third Strike (via GGPO), BlazBlue: CT (I can get CS if needed), HDRemix, old-school ST, TvC, lawllbrawl, T6, and SF4. If we can get a promising number of people to show up Saturday (5+ is all I’m asking) then we can use my place but I need a heads-up in advance as to who’s coming so I know what to expect.
PM me for extra details. I’m pretty sure this would be tight.
Sooooo, I don’t have any plans for saturday. Well, until now anyway… I can bring melty, kof games, plenty of other random games, and we could even get on… HOKUTO NO KEN!!!
@Shawn: I’mma try to get Archer in this shiznit too… It’s been too long since we used to go off on games at his place
Unfortunately, Saturday is looking like the only possible day we’ll be able to do this. My parents and brother (I’m still in highschool and live with them) are going out of town to Nashville for most of the day and part of the night, so this is probably one of the only times I’ll be able to do this for a while. Sorry about that =/. I’ll try and post some official hours for this as soon as I get 100% confirmation on when they’ll be gone, though.
RickRude, I’m gonna add you on Xbox Live so we can get some matches in. When it comes to SF4, I just wanna practice. Gotta level up my shit so I can put this flowchart away.
I’m open to using my place for future Madison/Huntsville sessions. My current off days are Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Just let me know if you all are free, and you can get some free matches against me!!

General stuff for the Hakumen vs. Rachel matchup:
Rachel is best at primarily zoning, but rushing down in spurts when she has the chance (a.k.a. Hakumen has very little/no meter, or possibly when she has an abundance of both wind and super meter).
Setting up a fortress at full screen limits Hakumen’s options and makes it tough for him to get in. Pumpkin should always be the first thing to summon (just be careful when winding it to get in due to Hakumen’s counters), followed by rods and George. If the Hakumen player does ANYTHING that leaves him vulnerable (attack, airdash, hop, etc) immediately either wind the pumpkin or zap the rods for a combo. Rachel has the second best zoning in the game and when used correctly it’s great in this matchup.
When rushing down, watch for IB > counter or avoid it by mixing up your strings and generally making them unpredictable. Hakumen can also counter overheads on reaction. 4B in particular is asking for trouble unless Hakumen is in blockstun from Baden Baden Lily or George. There are also rare occasions (especially in the corner) where a Hakumen player will try to counter on wake-up in order to avoid meaty George/j2C/whatever. The best thing to do in this situation is to either slightly delay the meaty so that the Hakumen eats a counterhit, or in George’s case, get away from Hakumen–if activated successfully, his counters are 100% invincible until the end of animation AND have zero recovery.
