dude, shut up =[
Dear Domokun,
I hope your arcade thrives, in two years when you’re finished with school, in two years when you’re finished with school, IN TWO YEARS WHEN YOU’RE FINISHED WITH SCHOOL. If you want to have a pissing contest about theoretical businesses, save it for your classroom, where you will be for two more years. In the meantime, you are welcome at my spot, I just hope you won’t get drunk and fuck my shit up. Also, I already hired Joe, and I challenge you to a money match for $1,000, first to five. I play Oro, who is probably on your low tier list.
With Regards,

P.S. I don’t know who you think you are, but publically denouncing my plans and taking such a condescending tone might actually cause you to lose your “edge”.
P.P.S. Albert, I know it seems like it’s taking too long, but remember, my goal is to open by summer, and we haven’t just been jerking off over here… we do other stuff, too.
your last name is so fucking crazy lyle
btw, i want a nyquil cocktail
chew up some ambien, you’ll be right as rain.
So that’s what that smell is…
WOW. You’re so misguided. This thread is full of suggestions, not everything it going to be put into action, just the stuff that’s worthwhile to invest in. Plus what you’ve said has flaws in it too.
-Smoking is legal indoors in certain establishments in CA provided you stay within the city/area’s laws and regulations.
-Arcades and drinking does work and having a bar doesn’t mean 21 n up ALL the time. Ex: Dave and Busters, Jillians, even P1. While drunken gamers can be a problem, it’s easily dealt with (making sure they don’t get shit faced, security, reg game maintenance).
What games are you going to put in?
As much as fighting games make, the common/casual gamer tends to play simple/interactive games i.e. racers/drivers, shooters, bemani/konami games.
Whether it’s kids mashing or adults mashing, you still have to maintain the games regularly anyway. It’s just a part of the business, be it nonprofit or profit.
It almost sounds as though you don’t know what you’re talking about. So whatever business plan you have, you need to seriously go over it again and revise it.
How about a “human resources match”
Winner gets to hire Joe Flores.
I wanna see an arcade on EVERY street!
his oro is no joke
ok! whatever you guys say.
I just came in, simply stated what I was doing because it wouldn’t be fair to to the guy whos planning this arcade. Simply I’m just giving him a chance to bail out before he starts making his investments. Thats all I came in for, not for some flame war.
There was a guy who said something about the drinking and you can have it because Dave and busters has it and you don’t have to be 21 to get in.
- Dave and busters makes more money on food and middle aged customers.
- They don’t make money off games. Look at how much they charge. on top of the cover charge on the weekend.
- They make most of their profit on selling beer, food, and points for prizes.
- If you’re under 21 you have to come in with someone whos 24 or 28 and they have to be with you at a supposed all the time. I’m not sure which age.
Realistically, you guys are incredibly focused on things other then the fighting games.
Look at the track record of other arcades that have been shut down because they don’t brake even with what they spend to upkeep it every month.
Look at Bearcade. Look at…what was it called? Oaktree? in oakland.
And you want to hire security to bounce stupid drunks out of an arcade? You have to hire 2 full time gaurds. Not worth it. Definatly not worth it. You’re much better off if got a retail space near a bar for those who drink and not even that is a better alternative for alot of other reasons I don’t have time or effort to write out.
It seems like you guys are designing another Golfland, but without the mini golf, the kids birthday parties (golfland’s profit). Why don’t you just talk to the MGL owner and buy them out? You’re not that far off from being just like them.
I can see it now! Chili dogs instead of nachos!
Guys, seriously I wish you all the best if you want to go on with this. You have my full support if you want to do it this that bad. It might not be a bad idea to have 2 arcades now that I think about it. We just need to space ourselves so that we don’t knock heads.
All I’m going to tell you guys is FOCUS on the GAMES.
nuff’ said!
Hahaahahsahhaahahaahahahahahahhaa…

I’m just an arbiter of the obvious.
HEY LEARN TO SPELL “BREAK” IDIOT

NO REALLY! I’m behind you 100% there, guy!

Count me out of next fridays gathering. As expected, coming home at 3 and not telling anyone beforehand got me in some immense trouble, so I now have a curfew. ROFL :[ I’m sure it’ll pass eventually.
But still, last night was TOTALLY worth it.
