The arcade of your dreams! plan it here!

I can fingerfuck!

I can paint AND fingerfuck! OHHHHHH WHAT?

try to make it feel a bit like home!

edit: keep the underground stuff kinda secert. random visitors can cause random stuff to happen. atleast make a special room 4 da spliffs! i especially like the idea of catering to a mature audience maybe have a bar in there too ahaha

hey, i wasn’t trying to shoot your dreams down man. i’m just giving you a heads-up on some of the obstacles you’ll have to deal with you so you don’t go bankrupt. i’m sure if we all put our heads together, we can find ways to avoid or at least compensate them.

i appreciate it, happy, just know that i make in between 250-700k a year and if i were to lose 30-40k on this i would be happy to take the tax deduction. at this point, i think we will actually be in the red for the first year or two, then break even for the following year, at the end of which we should be generating some kind of positive income. i would be ecstatic if we were making even $10 a month net, at least that means we would be able to stay open. think of this arcade not in a traditional business model sense. we arent trying to maximize our profits, we arent trying to be golfland. we are trying to give you, my friends, the arcade you have always wanted.

make sure you have competent techs.

if you have time, find out who works for patton vending and deny them a job if they ever apply. thanks.

i would recommend you do a joint resturant & arcade thing, something like Dave & Busters, except don’t limit your customers just to adults. make it like a family sit-in resturant. that way when the parents take the family out to eat, their bratty kids will see us play and be like: oh wow! i wanna be cool like them! daddy give me money so i can play with the big kids. can we come back here tomorrow too? who knows, 1 of them might become the next Daigo too.

i don’t know if you have any expertise in the resturant business, but you can also hire someone else to handle the resturant part, while you just handle the arcade

OR you can just open an arcade next to someone else’s resturant.

No Kids

adult only arcade :lovin: not into the inside smoking, but strippers in the arcade :lovin: …

now when you ask for change you can ask for a drink on the side …just great:lovin:

well we cant smoke inside during business hours.
but its not illegal if youre not in operation, so after hours is when you guys can smoke whatever you want. a few of us went to TILT yesterday for the tourney and i can say confidently that it is the worst arcade in the world. it is exactly the opposite of what my arcade will be like, so anybody who goes to tilt, be ready to fucking leave that shithole and drive to san jose instead, it will be worth the extra 30 minutes. oh yea, and to show my appreciation to commuters, ive decided to DOUBLE THE POT for tournies. you get as many entrees as you can, i will put in as much as you do.

on another note, what does everyone think of a card system? i initially thought quarters would be better, but now that i think about it, cards would be more convenient if you plan on coming regularly. buy $20 card once a month, and it will have a ratio of like 20 dollars/25 credits. i dont think anybody spends more than that every month at an arcade. let me know cuz its not up to me, its up to YOU!

i prefer the coin system just because its old skool, but card systems seems cleaner (as in you don’t have to deal with a lot of change and shit).

card systems don’t sound bad at all. i would support either/or

card systems overall are better.

Pros:
U can do time play. Give better deals for those that buy more in a single transaction. Easier for ppl to keep track of both for the business and customers, don’t have to worry about carrying a bunch of coins. Giving discounts to regulars, basically after spending so much their card from then on they get to play games at a discounted rate. Easier to keep track of individual card/player history and game revenues.

Cons:
the system can be expensive (depending which you use); initial cost, ordering of additional cards, etc. If a ticketing terminal goes down may cause a lag in selling cards. Or the system crashes (rare, but happens) you can be royally screwed.

Those are just some of the things I can think of off the top of my head from what I know.

well…i was given an idea by derek, who posts up here. it was a brilliant notion. his idea is that you pay basically for membership. for example, if you buy a card that costs xxx amount of money, it is good for unlimited play for a certain period of time. say you go on the 1st of the month and buy a $35 card, that card would mean you get unlimited play for a month, or a $10 card will be good for seven days, and $5 will get you done for a whole day from opening to closing or whatever. like a bus card. it seems like a great idea to me, since most of you guys will be regulars, and this would give you a chance to play more if you want to, for less $$$, and less hassle for me. let me know, cuz from what i have been hearing from people, this arcade will be the only place they go to play once we open up shop, so maybe paying on a monthly/weekly/daily basis will be better for everybody. think of it like paying for membership to a cigar club or something…its all inclusive, great service, great competition, and most of all, it’s a place that is made to give you somewhere to go and just chill with your friends. it’s not some nameless fucked up golfland with a fucking asshole in a security jacket telling you not to smoke in the parking lot, and some scrubby bitch selling pizza that needs your id to charge debit(!).

p.s. fuck golfland. fuck tilt. fuck anywhere that doesnt have at least 3 cabs for the games WE want to play. im tired of seeing five light gun games and one 3s cab.

If you hand Lyle a big wad of cash under the table he’ll give you a V.I.P. pass into the arcade. You can go to the backroom and meet the guy who did the voice of Urien.

Urien guy: “I bet the price of that card really KILLed you!”

is there going to be a place for consoles? perhaps for people who play madden, fifa or even halo?

plan on a cab wired up with a modded (shhhhh!) ps2 with lots of games loaded on the hd. probably just keep that on free play or some kind of time system 25 cents for fifteen minutes or something i dunno.

$

I’d rather have a place for money matches.

Console sucks, keep that shit out plz k thx.

The card system seems like a good idea. Much more convenient and minimal. Also, the deals that Lyle brought up is dopeness.

I think that if you were to have console play at the arcade then it would take away from having to pay to play in the first place. we should keep console out, accept for smash players for obvious reasons.
