^ That is not a good example of the Ryu/Blanka match. Laugh could have auto-correct DPâd all those j.mks on his wakeup. I think he tried it once and failed, and then he just stopped. KimLegend should have known close st.mp, jab xx elec doesnât connect vs Ryu under normal conditions. Blankaâs standard counter to Ryuâs cr.mk is st.hp. Maybe it was nerves, but both players made bad decisions in that match.

It wasnât from any event. Shinochan (the Oni player) was streaming some matches and happen to bump into Daigo in an Endless lobby. Shinochan is the commentating.

You did well.The sagat match-up is very strange for Ryu.Some things I did notice was that you were not doing your anti-air DPs deep,I donât know if you do them from crouching but if you donât you should start practicing that.The shortcut to do it is Down-forward,down,down-forward.Also something very useful in Ryuâs arsenal especially against Sagat in FB wars is his sniper tatsu,it can reach near full-screen and hit,if you land it when your opponent is in the corner it is free ultra for you.I think you may have been giving up too much ground too,in the Ryu Sagat matchup your goal as Ryu is usually to get Sagat to the corner,Ryu has a little trick when Sagat is there where he can c.MK at max range without canceling to Hado,then throw some standing jabs after,it will usually stuff everything Sagat tries including Tiger knee.On top of that Ryu has his ambiguous j.LK in the corner which is set up by landing forward throw,whiffing s.HK,then jumping in with LK. I also noticed you were comboing to sweep a lot,which is good,the only problem is that against Sagat your usual safe jump timing doesnt work because he wakes up one frame later than normal,which is why your OS ultra didnt work.Ryu can end his combos with multiple options,generally in mid-screen combos you will want to end with tatsu to gain space,and push your opponent torwards the corner,as Ryuâs game becomes much better when his opponents back is to the wall.When ending combos with Tatsu the different versions will affect spacing afterwards,HK leaves you right in front of them for wakeup games,MK leaves you at max c.MK range,and LK leaves you at a range where you can throw a jab fireball that they are forced to block if they quickstand,letting you reposition yourself about the screen,if they dont tech up you still get to move around a bit with dashes or whatever.Also for your oki,mix safe jump OS with things like empty jump into low,DP,or throw to keep them guessing even more,and of course you have cross-up tatsu and regular cross-ups.
