So I had a tab open for Strike Witches for a while but I just started on it a few minutes ago. I saw the intro and maybe 10 seconds after that and closed the tab. I can’t watch this. I don’t care about the panty shots. It’s this mecha musume thing. Up until now, my only exposure has been in still-shots and Nu from BlazBlue. Seeing it in this medium fucking weirds me out. Why just the legs(why not the whole body)? What is the appeal? It looks like they can’t bend their knees. I can take a lot of stuff but mecha legs modeled after WWII planes is too much.

Is there a mecha musume of an SR-71 though?

If anyone likes Strike Witches they are a pedophile no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

The original design artist did other design concepts similar to that of Strike Witches. I like the concept idea and some of the early design work was more mecha then musume, which was cool but what Strike Witches is a bit borderline for me. Yeah, I’m use to panty shots/implied pedo/loli/etc… but this is kind of disturbing in some ways.

I like the concept of “mecha musume”, but not the ultra loli really. That and how extremely boring the first minutes were made me not watch it.

I must admit I saw like half of Sky Girls(which is a kinda similiar show, but not really “mecha musume” in that sense) though
I don’t know, it had a decent plot or direction or… something. And I had nothing else to watch.

Oh, that show. I dunno, this is probably the only recent Shaft show that didn’t pique my interest compared to their other newer series. :wonder: Mixed reactions didn’t help the slightest.

You didn’t miss much. I was really hype about the premise (evil trap in girls school with yuri girl = sounded like win), but it didn’t live up to what I expected. It wasn’t bad, but for a “weird humour” show it wasn’t very funny either. It just kinda “was”. And no ending to speak of either, was there even a major plot? Can’t recall any

Just for the record, Strike Witches is one of my favorite shows ever. Like, maybe number 2 or 3.
God I can’t wait for the second season…and the dvd version to follow.

Also Maria Holic was disappointing in the fact it lacked lesbianism despite having a lesbian main character. Really the yuri was just a running gag. She could never get any…tear

Ippo is last season but Guin Saga, Shin Mazinger and Sengoku Basara are all spring 2009 shows that are still going. At least Guin Saga and Shin Mazinger are, don’t know about Sengoku Basara.

Other then those, I can only think of Phantom, Valkyria Chronicles, Slap Up Party and maybe Canaan.
