I’m already done with Samsung phones after I get a new phone.
Main reason being I’m sick of Kies never working.
I’d even get a OnePlus despite there being no SD slot. I’m considering a G3 or whatever supplants it next so long as LG not being doing the same thing as Samsung.
G3 is really good…especially after I installed the custom rom. tmobile version was alright even with the annoying bloatware.
first thing you wanna do is root the phone before any kind of update that might kill the possibility. there are some easy methods of doing it.
Bloatware is a killer on battery.
Im running Jasmine rom on my G3. Been on it for two months this has been the longest i ever been on stock type rom. I usually run an AOSP type rom

I’m probably swapping devices in July/August. Have to, my current phone will not work in Korea, and I’m moving there at the beginning of July. Gonna hock this phone here in China before I head out.
Basically, I’m looking for a good phone that will work in Korea on LTE. Being able to use LTE service in other countries is a bonus.

Phones bought in Korea usually come with two batteries and a standalone charger. This probably won’t be much of an issue for me.
speaking of that, anyone buy from swappa? snaake’s mom needs an iphone. don’t know if I wanna buy her a NEW one yet. these “mint” condition phones look pretty good.
With the advancements being made for mobile phones I don’t think anybody really needs to update for at least 2 or 3 more years if you u have a g3, nexus 5, s4, m8 or other phones in the same spec class. At least I don’t think we’ll see a huge improvement spec wise for the next few years.
Also such a bs move western territories decided to boycott 8 core so that they could release 4 cores for a longer time. Japan had been at 8 core for years already, so lame.
Same with Korea though. It also splits the hardware specs between the same phone, makes differentiating models for ROM support ridiculous, etc.
I’m probably getting a G4 when I go to Korea, just because it’ll have a SD slot. I may get a G3 instead if it’s still for sale, because it’ll be marked down after the G4 drops.
