So I just bought Ikaruga… but when I open it it keeps saying authentication failed, please reinstall. Tried to google it and what not, but I don’t see any answers to it.
And why the fuck can’t I refund. This is why I just pirate shit.
Well, my Galaxy S went bezerko Wednesday and virtually died. I switched for a LG Optimus 3D. Still playing the used phone game, but it’s definitely a step up from where I was.
Keep in mind the note 3 probably won’t come out until oct/nov. I dont even think about the size of my note 2 anymore. I couldn’t imagine having a smaller phone now. The web browsing and media watching is worth the size. It still fits in all my pockets and the battery lasts all day.
Will s4 have multi window? I havent seen it mentioned on any of the reviews. I didnt use it at first but lately I have been and its become essential to me now (rom’ed to be able to use any app). My friend rooted and got a rom with mw on his s3 (screen was too small to be practical though) I guess the s4 is capable if it doesnt come stock.
A lot of people like the htc one but personally im sticking with samsung for multi window alone. I would love some stereo speakers on the front though.
I do think the note 3 will have the 8 core processor. It’s already being put into an international version of the Galaxy s4. I guess Samsung is having trouble making enough of the chip though so most s4’s will have the qualcom 600 chip, but they’re said to be ramping up production of the chips so I fully expect it to be the sole chip in the note 3 when it’s released.
The note 2 came out in oct 2012 and the note 1 came out Oct 2011. I suppose it could be announced in July but I highly doubt it would come out before September.
I’m due for an upgrade in November…just have to decide between the S4 or the note3. Note3 looks like is gonna be sick!
Still love my Galaxy Nexus, just not the battery but whatever…I keep a spare. No rumors on a Galaxy Nexus 2 which is a shame, absolutely love the pure Google no bloatware straight out the box.
I think Google has basically stuck with a motto of giving various companies an almost equal crack at designing the Nexus phone. Samsung had two, LG had another, HTC has had one.
They tend to come out annually, so don’t let your hopes get dashed. But I guess it all depends on when 4.3 gets released, the devices always coincide with the next major release of android.
Long time since you posted this @SiriusBlack, but if you’re not wanting a Text Messaging app, and would be ok with a group chat app, KakaoTalk is a good one for this.
Android newbie here. My Samsung Galaxy S4 is being delivered to my house as we speak. Anything essential I need to know? I have been using an iPhone 4 until this point so I don’t know jack shit
The next nexus phone was rumored to be the motorola x-phone but recently ive read that lg is making the next one again. The nexus phones are usually underpowered compared to the latest and greatest but are also cheaper and come with stock android, more timely updates.
You will need a gmail account to link to the Google store. So make an account if you dont already have one.
Android apps are designated with .apk which are the executable files. Think of it as the .exe file for android.
You can find almost any apk on the Internet. Revolution has Android app packs almost weekly but a simple Google search for the apk file will usually get it for you.
I think this is how the gs4 is setup…
Go into settings (hit the button to the left of the home button while on the home screen). The button might be “invisible” aka a “capacitive” button. This button is the menu button. Think of it as right click on your mouse. I press it randomly in every app I use just to see what sort of menu options come up.
Hit system settings/security/ then check the box for “unknown sources.” This will allow you to “sideload” apps onto your phone. If its not checked then you can ONLY dl apps from the google store.
Get a file manager program from the google store. I use astro manager but there are tons of them.for example If you dl a kindle book it will go to your download folder. Use the file manager to find the file and copy it to your kindle folder.
When you have your phone connected to your pc its just like an external usb drive. Copy all your books movies porn to the appropriate folders on your phone, disconnect it and youre good to go.
Install flash on your phone. Google “android flash apk” and install it directly to your phone after its done downloading. I think the latest Official version was 11.1. Its not perfect but its better to have it and it works for most things. (Make sure you checked the box to allow for unknown sources. Otherwise it will reject the apk since its not coming from the google store which I dont think has the flash apk on it anynore…)
I use mx player as my video player. It plays xvid divs mp4 files great (i tjink mkv too). Get it free from google store. Free version should be ok or buy the pay version to get rid of ads or just find the apk online elsewhere. Again connect your phone to your pc and put all the shows or movies you want to watch on the go.
If you havent joined xda forums you should. Its where the dev community will post all the roms and stuff. Definitely browse the forum to see if theres anything worth grabbing on there.
This info might not be 100% accurate but it should give you an idea…
“Rooting” your phone means you’re granted root access to all the apps and stuff. From there you can install new roms and do all sorts of shit. Rooting used to be a lot more difficult. Nowadays its just installing a program on your pc, connecting your phone then literally pushing one button. Investigate on the xda forum for att gs4 to see if theres a root tool yet.
Roms are like firmwares. Developers will share roms they’ve made on xda or through tbeir own site. Usually will be linked from xda though. These roms will tweak simple things like the default volume to bigger things like giving you access to the system kernel to over clock or underclock your cpu. Mostly I like them because they get rid of all the carrier bloatware. There are can be dozens of roms for any phone but usually 2-3 will be favored.
