I had to live in downtown LA for about 5 years for work and it was insane how bad the gang problem is getting in the city. It’s also crazy expensive. (My job payed for my old tiny apartment because no sane person is going to be able to afford rent and not consider retiring to small town America if they have that kind of money.)
Add in insane taxes, massive illegal immigration putting huge strain on social services + crime rate and decades of government mismanagement that means the state is always close to financial ruin.
I transferred out after a coworker went home one day and was shot by a few gangbangers for having a nicer car than them. They crossed the boarder into Mexico and got away scot-free. I literally put in my transfer request the next workday.
IMO it’s one of the worst states in the union by a wide margin. The only thing it has going for it is the amazing climate and great farmland.
The thing I’ll never forget about California is how we as a state stood up loud and proud for Obama and his “Change” tagline… then two years later we elect a governor we had 20 years prior and did a shit job then.
man my cousin was almost killed by some fucking gang banger.
dude was reading red shoes and shirt and some fucking dumb ass crypt motherfucker walks up to him grabs him by the throat and pulls up his shirt showing a gun saying,
I haven’t had to hear window rattling Mariachi music blasting out of Silverado in like 5 years now, I leave my doors unlocked and I can buy legal with a half hour drive in to WA. Fuck California.
Very sad that a republican senator wants to regulate charity work like this. But goes to show that every day people can change more in their neighborhoods than the government can due to regulations. More power to the people.
Wouldn’t that alienate anti-illegal-immigration voters which is like a huge chunk of his support base? Although they probably have nowhere else to go since he’s the only one who talks about putting America first.
I don’t think so. Maybe a deal breaker for the the most staunch, please give the boot to every last illegal over the glorious wall type voter. But I think people will are both rational and logical and will, as above posted, make deals.
