Aside of the fact, that most of the recent attacks were done by people who had lived in our countries long before the wave arrived, you are correct. But how is this all the fault of these people?
Food for thought: If you go to a different country and the people there (well in our case, you’d have to say “white people”) keep rejecting you, because your hat looks funny, and they are scared, because you call god by a different name, you tend to stick with people who are like you.
Little example? My daughter’s best friend’s dad is from Syria. He came to Germany several years ago. He’s married to a german woman and a neurosurgeon at the local hospital. He speaks the german language better that many of the so called “true germans”. And while he kept his religion, you don’t really notice that. He doesn’t drink alcohol, he doesn’t eat pork and he is pretty strict about the Ramadan. He never tried to pressure his wife into these things, but he doesn’t want his daughter to eat pork, or run around naked in the summer (she’s 5 by the way). You never see him praying. All in all he’s a nice and funny guy and good company.
But despite all of this he is (and will always be) “the arab”. And this shit has gotten worse, since the refugees came. So if not even fully integrated people are being accepted, I wonder what the newcomers might think.
So there is no real surprise that people who keep being rejected, turn towards “their” people. And come to think of it - if we would move to a different country, we definitely would try to find and befriend some fellow germans/americans/whatever. That’s normal. People of the same culture tend to stick together, because they have more things in common. So there’s two reasons, why “subcultures” exist.
Of course there also are a lot of people who come here and don’t even try to integrate into society. Stubborn assholes who after 15 years don’t even speak the language and don’t care about anything - nobody needs these people.
However - the “zones” you mentioned in your post - who is responsible for making sure, that the people there don’t live by their own rules but by ours? That’s what law enforcement exists for. Unfortunately our government (I don’t know about the US) has been way to soft. All the years they’ve been tiptoeing around, making sure that nobody feels uncomfortable. And now we too have zones, the police doesn’t wanna go in, because some gangs from Lebanon or so think, they own these streets. And that’s what I really blame the politicians for. They don’t think straight, they don’t do, what has to be done. They just want everything to be nice, warm and fuzzy. And now the shit starts hitting the fan and they all go “Oh, we gotta do something!” (at least here in Germany). Yeah…you should have started about a decade ago…In the end that’s on our governments. And it’s not that nobody told them. They were being warned plenty. They just didn’t listen, because years back the voters did not really care.
Not if major parts, of what happens there goes back on western influence. Guess, where the Taliban came from. Guess how ISIS was possible. These guys did not fall from the sky. They are a direct or indirect results of western countries, trying to gain influence and protecting their own interests. And that’s not some communist-social-tree-hugger-bullshit. That’s hard facts.
Turkey is an exception in some ways, because currently it is turning into an islamic dictatorship after being a democratic and secular country for many years.
As for your other examples: That’s what happens after a revolution. In case a dictator/king/whatever is being removed from power, chances are, some really fucked up hardliners will take over. Look at the french revolution. Yes, they got rid of the king. But then - for many years - the bloodbath continued. Hundreds of thousands were killed in the wake of the revolution, including Robespierre, who was an initiator of the revolution. If you weren’t 100% straight with the new leaders, it was the guillotine. Look at Russia, look at China or Cambodia - it’s almost always the same. That has nothing to do with Islam.
And yes - Egypt had a democratic election. And boy did those people vote for the wrong guys, didn’t they? I mean, millions of US american citizens are about to hand the steering wheel of the most powerful country in the world to a complete idiot without the slightest bit of a plan and no understanding of politics whatsoever - just to steer things up. But egyptian people voting for the muslim brotherhood in a democratic election - that’s unheard of, isn’t it? How dare they? That’s not, what democracy is for. In a democracy you vote for a guy, who likes western countries, right?
Well, I get the impression that your point of view is, that killing gay people for doing gay things is much worse than torturing and killing people and their families for criticizing the local dictator.
My point is, that a democratic society needs to grow for many years. But in order to grow there must not be a dictator/absolute ruler or anything like that. Thing is, that western countries like these dictators as long as they keep doing business with us. Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and many other countries being ruled by ruthless dictators or kings is not something we discovered 2 years ago. That’s been the situation for many decades. However as long as the oil kept flowing, we were happy to let those guys do, whatever they wanted. We even gave them a lot of weapons (shame Saddam used those gas grenades on the Kurds) to fight in wars we encouraged them to start (against other rulers in that region, we weren’t so happy with).
So yeah - we helped the dictators to stay where they were (and we still do), as long as they behaved. Now, the people in some countries like Egypt had it and gave these guys a bloody farewell. And I can’t shake the impression that the great western countries who took decades to become democratic societies, now look at these countries and expect democracy to happen over night. Dictator is gone, let’s vote and…WHAT?!? They elected religious guys??? Ah well…Islam is just not democracy-compatible. Never was (true, because up until now these people were ruled by kings and dictators only) and never will be. Fuck 'em…stupid barbarians.

There is 10 countries (you might remember, that there is far more than 10 muslim countries) where the official laws include death sentence for gay people. However there is only 4 countries (including Saudi Arabia and Quatar - you know…our buddies), where gay people WILL be executed, doing gay things. So yeah…Muslims being overly fond of killing gay people - more like a myth…
Of course there are fucked up hardliners, including judges following the Sharia instead of the official laws and militia who will kill gay people on sight. But we are still far from “being gay in a muslim land = dead”.
And didn’t say it’s a great achievement. It’s just so, that killing or discriminating gays is not an official line all the citizens of a muslimic country follow happily.
There is no increase in rape. If you pointing at New Years night in Cologne - most of the fuckers there did not come with the recent wave. They had been here for some time. And while they did a lot of touching, as far as I know, no one got raped. It’s still bad enough (even worse, how the authorities and the government handled this). But is was no rape festival. There were incidents for sure, but you still don’t have to wear iron panties around here. German sex offenders still comfortably lead the statistics.
There also is no increase in violence that is connected to the wave. Germany had some fucked up days, but the major part - the shooting in Munich - was done by a german student. The axe-man and the bomber from Ansbach both were refugees but they came here long before the wave arrived. One of the 2 guys in France who killed the priest was long known to the authorities. In fact he was under house arrest and had to wear a tracking device (which he still wore, while decapitating the old man…kinda leaves room for some questions…). So no…not really a part of the wave. Same goes for the Nice driver.
What we do in fact have is a massive increase of incidents like “I don’t wanna be treated by a female doctor” or “I’m not talking to a female <insert profession here>”.
So do we see an increase in violence? Hell yes. But that is not connected to the wave of refugees and immigrants. It’s more like the seed ISIS & Co. have planted on the internet, starts to rise in the local morons who already live here. You have to realize, that the people coming from Iraq or Syria are running away from islamists. The last thing they wanna do, is continuing this shit here. We have our german groups of salafis. They are approaching the refugees, trying to win them for the cause. Most times they’re being told to fuck of. Many of the refugees have converted to Christianity. Many still do. Most do this, because once they have converted, it’s harder to send them back. But the mere fact, that they are doing this, should tell you a lot about how hardcore they are. Being an apostate is probably the worst thing a muslim can do.

In Germany all they get until their request for asylum has been granted (which takes a shitload of time) they get food, clothes and a roof over their head (which most times is a total dump and they have to share it with dozens of other refugees). They don’t get any money at all - often for months. Also they are not allowed to do any kind of work.
IF a request for asylum is being granted, a single grown up gets 325 Euro, a family of 4 about 1000 Euro (all in addition to rent). With this money they can live in Germany but it certainly is not a good life.
My point is - if these people risk their lives (knowing that hundreds have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea) and endure a very long trip over several weeks, walking through half of Europe, leaving everything behind…if they do all this just to get a couple of bucks, so that they won’t starve to death and can put on some decent clothes - well I think there might be a good reason, why they left their countries. You might be all good on the “let them rot” attitude. I’m not. And of course we can’t take them all in. Of course this has to be controlled. But countries, whose citizens each year throw away tons of food, medicine and clothes (just because they are not in style anymore), sure have some resources left.
Well just because someone demands something, doesn’t mean he/she/it will get it. I’m pretty sure, the US will never see the wall to Mexico, Trump is demanding (especially not, if he wants the Mexicans to pay for it). That’s up to our governments. Telling those demanders to go fuck themselves would be a good first step. And up to this point we don’t have any Sharia laws in Germany. Do you have? And I’m pretty confident, that in Germany we will never see any Sharia laws, because the Sharia more or less completely contradicts the german constitution. And that’s a document which won’t be changed so quickly. I don’t even know, what it takes to do that, but before these radicals would reach that goal on a legal way, I’d say they would be better off, taking the country by force…which will never happen. Personally, I don’t feel we have any obligation to other people and other countries, we need to focus on our own problems.
