Anyway, people here do attack homosexuals and that’s largely because they were raised to hate them. Christians like to preach love but I went to many churches in my time and boy they really hate gays. Even non-religious folk have some animosity towards gays.

Many do condemn there lifestyle the difference is they wont bake you a cake, but then hold a fund raiser to send you to conversion therapy and offer to take you hunting. 3. The rest of the numbers clearly show a very important point, which is: Religion is the source of all evil around the world. It dumbs people down. It hinders development of civilization and everything else, because it’s some ancient fairy tale that’s trying to enforce rules, which date back several centuries. If you give power to the priests, you lose. Most muslim societies are, where we were, when we used to burn witches at the stake. Then we took away the church’s power and for us it went uphill from there.
   Unfortunately muslims can’t really do the same thing, because unlike the Catholic church the Islam is not a structured organization . Each country would have to act on their own and that’s much more difficult. As it turns out 99/100 religious leaders are greedy bastards, who will do anything to keep their power.

   If you look at muslim countries, you will find, that those countries that are doing better (economically), tend to be more liberal in terms of religion. There are exceptions like Saudi Arabia. If you look at these polls of yours, you can see, that while there are hardliners, muslims in western countries tend to be much more liberal. And don’t tell me, that there are no christian hardliners in the US, who follow the bible literally word by word. And the bible includes it’s fair part of horrible shit. This is anecdotal, but I still feel it’s worth mentioning: My job takes me to a lot of places. Sometimes I go places just outside of where I need to be in order to get the real feel of America. I do this in every country, really. I like the path less traveled as it gets me a better view of the people there. Anyway, there are a lot of pockets in America who support these groups. A lot. So they still wield power but not nearly as much. They can also influence elections for federal, state, and local offices. So yeah, it’s still a problem.

They are not huge public spectacles anymore because the U.S. society, for all of its legion of faults, has evolved past the point where such is deemed morally acceptable.

I support public execution, It used to be considered like Jury Duty, it was a civic responsibility to witness what you are part of. It encouraged people to pay attention to whether someone is guilty and take clemency seriously. The death penalty and criminal justice system needs massive reform, but the death penalty is necessary and beneficial.

Two racists killing one person as abhorrent as it is, is not the massive public lynching you’re purporting it to be and those racists were executed for it.
