Man this election is depressing. Is this really the best that we could do? Like there is nobody else we could’ve possibly “chosen”. Shit is a complete circus. Trump the “too innocent” vs Hillary the “Warhawk”. Almost sucks the enthusiasm out of voting.

I don’t understand why anyone thinks shes a good candidate, shes won in NY thanks to Nepotism and lost to Obama which was kind of ridiculous at the time and she almost or did lose to Sanders. When people are given an option other than Hillary they take it.

I’m not sure what in the actual hell the Clinton campaign and DNC’s goal is. You got an influx of independents who run a bit against your grain, and you just tell them all “fuck off we don’t need you now” as you head into a general election? Bernie supporters aren’t just going to not vote for her, they’re going to channel that same energy into Stein/Johnson/Trump’s campaigns, which drives more people away. I think establishment Democrats actually live in denial that their “favorite” is so widely disliked by the American people.
Their goal is to gain and maintain power. That’s all.

Why do old people think Lena Dunham speaks for millennials? Most of us hate her or, at best, love-hate her for her TV show. Everything else she’s terrible at.
At what point exactly the german government has surrendered? We don’t need to defend us against those people. Thing is - if you let in hundreds of thousands of people, chances are the package contains a certain number of major assholes and traumatized people. But what’s the alternative? This?
Just so you know - that’s not somewhere in Syria. That’s from Europe. That’s what you get when you close up the borders. Also a reason why Merkel said, they could come to Germany.
Well, what are you going to do against these attacks? Do you really believe, closing the borders will stop them? The only attack where apparently some of the attackers came with the refugees, were those in Paris. However, the attacks were planned and orchestrated in Belgium. The Charlie Hebdo shooting was bone by two guys who were born in France. The shooting in California and the one in the Orlando club were done by guys born in the US (well at least the husband was). The driving maniac from Nice had lived in France for several years and he was known to the police (and so were the Hebdo shooters).
The idiot who took an axe and jumped some chinese tourists on a train near Würzburg a couple of days ago, in fact WAS a refugee. But he was a very young one (it’s unclear if he was 17 years old, because many refugees throw away their passports - this makes it harder to process their case, because nobody can say for sure if they are telling the truth about their age and the country they came from). So him being a trained attacker does not seem very plausible
The guy who blew himself up yesterday at a concert in Ansbach - while being a refugee too, he also had been in psychological therapy for more than a year. So while there might be a religious background to this bombing, the question is, why he was allowed to go free.
And the idiot who went postal in Munich on Friday, killing 9 people on the run…well he was a 16 year old student from Germany who was obsessed with amok runs from the past and - according to our Secretary of the Interior influenced by video games (and I thought, we were past these stupid discussions…sigh).
Unlike the Catholic Church the Islam is no organized religion. The is no “Rome”, where the highest ranks of the Islam reside. There is no real hierarchy. There are no real rules on how to become an imam. There are high quality religious schools, but it is also possible to become an imam all by yourself. This means that every idiot can become an imam and no one will stop him. THAT is one of the major problems. We have some of these idiots right here in Germany (and you will have many more in the States). Those are not refugees. We are talking white german guys like Pierre Vogel or Sven Lau. These guys converted to Islam, called themselves imam and started talking bullshit. Both are being watched by Homeland Security. But unless they break the law, there is not much, the state can do. And they are not the only ones.
Another problem is the internet. When I hear our right wing conservatives, Trump or other people talking, it’s like there never was a problem until the refugees appeared. And once we close our borders and get rid of the rest of the people, the problem will be solved. They couldn’t be more wrong. The problem has been here for long and it will stay here as long as religion exist. When IS, Al Quaida and all these other groups started posting their bullshit on internet platforms, people all over the world could see and share it. And while the attackers I mentioned above (with exception of the Hebdo shooters who apparently underwent training in an Al Quaida camp) were not directly connected to these groups, they sure were under the impression of their propaganda.
And this won’t stop until you shut down the internet. So what exactly are you gonna do? Surely you cannot ban Islam legally, because this would violate the constitutions of our countries. So what’s it gonna be?
And about the Islam waging war on our Western Civilization - there’s about 1.6 billion muslims in the entire world. And unlike the western countries, muslims still take their religion pretty serious. So if Islam WAS waging a war on us, we would have much bigger problems, than we currently have. Truth is, that most muslims are just like us. They want to live in peace, raise their children, go to work and have some fun at the end of the day. But there’s always the assholes who simply can’t have that. But even if there was 1 million of muslim terrorists around the world, who were actively fighting - that would still sum up to 0.0625% only. Looking at those relations, we have more Nazis in Germany. So you should be more concerned about us.
And please don’t forget: Whatever we are facing right now in our countries - in countries like Iraq and Syria (and many others), this is being called a quiet Sunday afternoon. This is where the terrorists are trying to spread Sharia law. In the Western world their goal is different. By constant poking, they are trying to start a war between christians and muslims. They want us to go mad on our muslim fellow citizens. And they believe, that once this starts, the entire rest of the muslim world will turn on us. It’s stupid but people like Trump who actively spreading hate over muslims are actually doing the terrorist’s work. Because sooner or later the not so bright parts of our population are gonna fall for this shit and start taking the law in their own hands.
