I’m a liberal that registers as an independent. I like to tell people I’m an independent because I am, technically. I’ll spend the next few months trying to convince my peers to begrudgingly cast their vote for Clinton, because good heavens, look at the alternative!

I’ve been on reddit and the salt over Bernie is REAL. Forget what the polls are saying, 80% or more these dudes are voting anything other than Crooked Hillary. I see a lot of “Jill Stein,” “Never Hillary” and “voting Trump, F* the establishment.” The democrats pissed off Bernocrats far beyond what is acceptable. Supposedly Bernie endorsing Hillary Tuesday and they are bracing for more salt. A lot of these guys paid massive donations and volunteered and they are going to feel BETRAYED.
Why won’t Bernie run 3rd Party?

Politicians who talk a good moral and ethics game are rarely the most moral or ethical. (Disclaimer: I mean this as a general statement. Haven’t followed Sanders closely enough to get a read on him).

You do realise that it makes no sense strategically, right? It just splits the Democrat vote and gives Trump the victory.
Bernie gets the 3rd party votes, he gets the majority of Dems, and he gets no small number of Pugs who wouldn’t vote for him as a Nemesis candidate, but would drop Trump like the radioactively hot sweet potato that he is.
There’s no way that Sanders prises the older Dems and black vote from Hillary’s cold skeletal hands.

There is no way they will vote Sanders. They are much more likely to vote Clinton than Sanders.

Everyone would benefit if these politicians ran third party. Everyone should push for 3rd party Bernie and possible third party Cruz. Splitting the vote as much as possible is the only thing we can do now to not confirm the worst possible person to win.
I’m not convinced that having a third party, or even multiple parties is really going to be a solution to any problems. Take Australia for example, someone from the “Motor Enthusiast Party” won a seat in Parliament, what is to stop something similar from happening here?
The difference is that we’re a winner-take-all government. We don’t have a parliament where we spread out power so everyone can have a say. Still, with a parliament’s flaws it’s still much more preferred than “51% takes it” style of government, which is inherently flawed.
