I did too, I like GJ but he pissed me off and the entirety of the libertarian party with Weld and the Austin Petersen fiasco (that’s probably to inside baseball with the Lib party for most of you to know about) and by supporting open border policies alienated anyone considering voting for him. In a year where he was poised to make Libertarians competitive I am guessing he under performs compared to past years.

Johnson is to the Libertarians what Clinton tries to pass herself off as; won’t please everyone, but has a little something for everyone to at least get behind. Die-hard Libertarians might not like it, but America will need time to willingly move in the right direction. Johnson/Weld are libertarian-lite in a form the American public might be able to accept.
He’s still WAYY less authoritarian than either major candidate. If you changed your vote over “open” borders (which is more true to Libertarian philosophy than what you’re arguing for), you weren’t going to get off Trump’s dick anyway.

Protesting like those state senators and Kaepernick is the most American thing to do. Remember when Muhammad Ali protested his selection to the Vietnam War draft? People called him a hero for taking a stand.

Ali was treated like a criminal when he refused to serve in the war, and a large section of society absolutely despised him.
He was, in no way, treated unilaterally like a hero.
Years later, public opinion on him has become unified in that he was a icon and hero of his generation, but that was not the belief at the time. The dude, after all, was a convicted criminal for draft dodging.
