There is nothing wrong with the sex(ual exploration), people just have problems with some of the outcomes that can happen when the kids aren’t taught about (safe) sex in a positive and informative manner. the STDs are bad (obv) and getting prego young is bad (because of how our society is set up) but there isn’t anything wrong with the sex itself.
though I also think the problems concerning sex in our society are greater than just the education (though the education would really be a help still)

Well its more than just STDs and prego. There’s the emotional aspect to it too. Not everyone can compartmentalize sex and their emotions. Some people can just fuck and think nothing more of it. But a lot of people can’t. I doubt a middle schooler could. People will get hurt. A lot of dudes think they are cool if they sleep with tons of hot babes, and they attach all their self worth to a number. This attitude will involve in a lot of emotional damage for all parties involved.
Also, a lot of STDs can be transmitted even with condom usage. Safe sex is not as easy as using a condom every time. You also have to get tested. Frequently. But a lot of tests do not catch early stages of infection. Or late stages. Some have a 2% false negative rate, others have even higher false negatives. In a middle school sex ed class, they should be teaching kids to wack off. That’s safe. A middle schooler going to get tested for STDs is just … wrong. And I doubt any of them are even bothering with that.
so, still nothing wrong with the sex act itself just with stuff that might result from it. frankly, all those things happen regardless of age and even regardless of sex (emotional issues) and will still happen. they are not specific to age. but it can be helped with teaching young people about sex in a positive manner. not only can you address STD/prego safety but you can also go over other health issues(mental/emotional/etc.). also there’s just a lot of general hormonal/emotional things going on at the time anyway and for plenty of teens it’s just growing up and they’ll learn and get over things.
to me it just seems like you don’t like all the results that might come from sex though there are plenty of cases of anyone (including younger people) having perfectly normal and healthy sexual relationships.
school/parenting methods need an overhaul (and so does sex’ treatment in society and with religion but that’s a bigger issue). all I got in school was what is happening during puberty. nothing really about actual sex and definitely nothing about safe sex and related health. and that was pretty lucky of me considering the catholic school I was in. I’d have to say I’ve made some unwise decisions when younger too but was fortunate enough that nothing bad came from it.
I see where you’re coming from and I agree those are issues (in general, not just teens), but there is nothing inherently wrong with sex and I think what I’m saying would be the way to answer your concerns, unless you have any other ideas?

Shit hasn’t changed at all. People have been getting busy in their teens for the longest time. The difference is that the mainstream media and different interest group do a good job to destroy the history of sex in America.
