Yeeeah… That’s not even an accidental spoiler. That’s an “I’m gonna spoil things just for fun” post. And that gets people ignored. Which I do now! Whee!
We knew she was gonna die before the second movie was ever even announced. It just would have been surprising to see it in this film. But inconsiderate fuck heads have to ruin everything.
I’ll never understand what the hell is so hard about putting sensitive content in a freaking spoiler tag. Dude does the same shit in the Dark Souls thread too. It’s a VERY basic courtesy.
Very true, but that doesn’t mean they could’ve trimmed it down a bit. Like in the first one they had the right amount of gwen/pete time. It didnt over saturate the movie.
They reconcile so damn close to the end waaayy after the whole “I can’t be with you! But I wanna be with you!” bit that dragged-on throughout the movie.
I hope they focus more on Black Cat/Felicia Hardy than Mary Jane in the next movie. I don’t know how much of a difference they can establish between MJ and Gwen, but having a love interest who’s a much more proactive type would make things a lot more interesting.
Nah, Felicia is only really into Spider-Man… She finds Peter Parker kind of boring and lame. MJ is the ride-or-die chick who can knock some sense into Pete when he’s fucking up, and remind him that no matter what bad shit goes down, she’s always got his back.
*…and I just psycho-analyzed ANOTHER fictional woman… Two this time, actually…

The movie was ok. The one consolation is that it was definitely better than the first.
The major boon were the action sequences. It finally felt like they showed Spider-man’s real agility rather than the parkour stuff in the first movie. I also liked the fact that they made him keep his mask on for much of the film this time.
Now for the bad…
Osborne and Parker’s friendship felt forced.
Gwen xoxo Parker went hammy status with the bridge scene.
Electro’s character was just bland (Jamie Foxx tried to make it work though) and the who tie-in with Gwen, was weak.
Gwen Stacey’s death was well-deserved. She was annoying, sneakily self-absorbed, and always putting herself in harms way. Good riddance.
And those stoic Dennis Leary “hallucinations” were annoying as fuck.
I probably would’ve been a lot more lenient if it came out before Winter Soldier, but I think the time has ended giving mediocrity a pass.
Spoiler
That song at the end with Kendrick Lamar was honestly my favorite part of the film. X-Men looks leagues better as well.

7.5/10 for me. Foxx seemed like a waste of talent. I actually would have kept the character white and the whole “nerdy social recluse” would have played out better for me. Dr Kafka was lame, such a cliche. GwenXPeter was such a drag. you could tell the chemistry was there, but they should have made it into the 1st 3rd of the movie and only have her show up at the end. Harry was decent, he played the believable pompous jerk. Aunt May did her thing. action scenes were done superbly, and the Wub Wub Wub was alright. [/details]
