You guys have any partner recommendations? So far I’ve fiddled with Hugo, Vega, and I’m trying Lili. I’m thinking to try Poison since I love zoning characters. Any characters that can really benefit from Akuma’s juggles, and vice-versa?
Go with Juri over Poison.
Superior zoning, more mobile, stupid damage, stupid frame traps, godly anti-air combos.
I tested the punish range on cr. mk xx hadou. If you’re doing it at the proper range then the pushback will make you safe. Do it too deep, however, and you can get hit a short/jab.
Gouki is easily tied for best SF char with Rolento imo. He might even be the best in the game, though I think Kazuya gives him a run for that title as well.
But it’s less then a week still so take that with a grain of salt.

The highlighted portion only remains true if your opponent stand blocked it. If they crouch block it and know that the second hit whiffs on crouchers both your characters can get hit.
maining kuma and ken currently b ranked, kuma is awesome in this. lots of setups and tactics to build meter and escape.

When you tap down, down and then press the kicks, it’ll usually register the third down along with them
Could you elaborate on some of the qualities that you feel make him really good?
The changes didn’t affect him really and he gained one of the best supers in the game.
He has all his tools and he still hits hard. His biggest weakness is that now everyone has his huge level of damage that he has had since ST. He can’t vortex anymore so what. Buffer pokes all day and master hit confirms into his combos and you are good to go. He has tekken level damage but SF style tools. He’s fucking perfect honestly.
I mean who could lose too cept maybe Cammy?
Gem 220. A wakeup teleport is a reversal.
They have to nerf that super at some point.
cr.jab->cr.jb->cr.strong->cross art is also pretty crazy because of how easy it is to confirm. I guess it doesn’t really matter for better players though (they can hit confirm well anyways).

How come everyone is saying akuma has great damage, I don’t really see it outside of the corner.
I’m playing akuma/steve so i tag cancel a lot of the combos into steve and do good damage, but I don’t think akuma does great damage.
Maybe im spoiled in terms of damage because of steve.
Akuma does alot of damage. You must utilize his BnB to do over 290+ damage. He is great because most of his moves link to sweep. So saying that U can vortex them and then anticipate the forward roll or do a mix up which makes him do tons of damage. I was able to best 2 characters down to 30% stamina just with Akuma alone.
