The AE Sakura Changes Wild Speculation Thread

yeah she is my 3rd alt now but I don’t main her anymore. I dropped her I was waiting for big changes and then main her again, but yeah I’ll take those buffs but she will still be my alt.

If she had CvS2 st.rh she’d be absurd. That move is so stupid. Giving her that st.RH poke alone is the equivalent of what makoto and gouken got.

They really need to buff that s.RH from SFA2/3/CvS2 in Super.

sooooo so so so true. i alternate between sak and mak for mains…comon capcom at least extend the karakusa grab a little bit instead of teasing with st.lk kara’ing. its easy enough to kara with it already

but im more extremely happy about her faster dash and back dash and FINALLY armor on her ex hayate…but enough rambling with mak

sak, is a underdog powerhouse with a great sense of fashion…except the ganguro alt…that thing sucks cow balls

So its not a buff, its not a nerf, its just different. Some people, myself included, just aren’t entirely down with this particular brand of different.
Doesn’t stop other people from enjoying it though.

As for that roundhouse, hey, Bison has a 7 frame roundhouse. Why not us? LOL

Not to ruin your day or anything but Bison’s roundhouse comes out in 6 frames, not 7.

Not that tier lists matter to me, but if this does bump her up a few notches, you think we’ll see more competitive Sakura play in big tournaments? I’m on the fence about it. A big reason for me picking Sakura was that she’s been a favorite of mine since Alpha 2. Her being “low tier” in the Sf4 series only made the wins that much more rewarding. While I appreciate these buffs, (Hopefully they increase U2’s strength. It does less than her super if combo’d into, which is ridiculous.) I fear Sakura is a faster overhead away form being broken.

I dunno if that last part you put was just a saying of yours, but if you’re literally talking about Sakura’s overhead…

It’s the second fastest command overhead in the game, second only to Dudley’s command overhead. So you need not worry, there’s no way they’d make it any faster.

Wow…Not exactly a saying of mine, but you explaining it that way only further supports my point. Well said. I know they won’t make it faster, nor do I want them too.

Sakura

? Reduced recovery on Close Medium Punch.

? Far Standing Medium Punch is Cancelable.

? Improved hitboxes on Far Standing Medium Kick.

? Improved backdash.

? Fireball’s charge time decreased.

wait, was it charge time or the recovery frames that were altered? I’ve been reading both.

Actually I was hoping for an improvement on f.mk. That’s awesome. I still wish I got at least 1 frame faster on her forward dash cause I’m not too consistent with shou (3 hits) fadc hp. And some U2 buffs woulda been cool such as a tiny bit faster travel speed and the ability to do one with an ex hadouken on screen (I don’t even mind the normal hadouken stopping it). But hey they gave her some amazing stuff so I’m definitely not complaining.

Off topic but oh thank god! They nerfed Bison’s RH! THIS in itself is a buff for the dreaded Sakura/Bison matchup.

After doing nothing but lose to Bisons for about 6 months straight, I don’t sweat the dude too much anymore.

U2’s damage needs a serious buff. I mean I get that it’s easier to land, at the cost of damage, but honestly…

I’d say U2 should travel faster horizontally to help in good footies/fireball wars.

Okay, I’m putting a heads up for anything people want to be tested in AE.

My arcade gets it the 18th so if you want something tested let me know and I’ll try my best to report back what I find.
