By the time FR6 comes back around, I may not be in ATL. But I’ll do my best to come back for it. I really want to play some of you florida players in 3s. And I want to see Gandido’s infamous Ibuki.
I play Makoto now
Seriously, I might be really good with Ibuki, or I might not. But just having to pick her is like setting a handicap on myself because she’s so WEAK! I’ll play her if my other chars can’t do anything… but that’s as far as I can use her. She’s good in clutch situations though, because you get real aggressive, which is what she is best at. I generally pick her against runaway Yun so I can have SOME momentum.
been longtime, havent posted because of school stuff.i know its kinda late tosay this but:
1- I KNOW that makoto is not about combos and remy about sonic booms. it’s about stategy
and…
2- YES! I THINK Terry IS TOP TIER (for me)
While it’s nice to know people would like to play Floridian 3S players I have to warn you not to expect anything up to calibur like our MvC2 and CvS2 players.
When it comes to 3S Florida has to short end of the stick.
Either way I hope I get to play you (and many other AS 3S players) in the near future.
It’s hard improving when you play the CPU and Training mode all the time, I need more comp!
Hugo like’s fighting against Ibuki, Makoto, and Yun. They look like babies to him.
GET IN MY BELLY!
Comp is comp, bro. We all gotta get better some how. I didn’t even start playing 3s until like october, but man, I love that game. Getting beat on by June does get old though. That’s why when June is done with me I beat on Larry’s fat ass hugo. It’s all about the tru to the jaw.
WTF Larry are you stoned? Makoto and Ibuki HIGHLY counter Hugo. Makoto can dash under any of your hits (most of them) and karakusa you, and Ibuki can keepaway/rushdown for free like 100% of the time in that match. Low forward is the key, and her forward + roundhouse knocks off most of what you can do.
Anyways, I need to get back in shape.
i didn’t even know there was a 3s thread. i guess i can find out all the 3s players in the south.
btw… hugo just needs one or two parries to the throw to kill ibuki or makoto… plus they have to get close to hurt hugo… so hugo can play more defensively… i agree with larry… it’s too hard to beat hugo w/ makoto or ibuki.
I know your glad about beating HUGO finally. but you have to do it more than once or twice.
Oh yea, the true hurts like a beeyotch.
1st of all I don’t do drugs. 2nd of all just like June Ro “dooboy” just posted to do any damage on me you have to be close. Your playing into my hands. Also the only normal move of HUGO’s you can dash UNDER with makoto is the forward and fierce punch on the ground and I don’t use that shit at all. Everyone can dash under that attack. Can you dash under the sweep? Can you dash under the clap? Can you dash under my forward and strong punch? I don’t think so sir. Also I use the taunt and if I get 3-4 taunts out you won’t take hardly any damage off of me with ibuki or makoto. If you use ibuki and run away like you said then your going to give me all the taunts for free. I will gladly take a few darts for a power up taunt. I’m not that good at 3S, but I feel confident when I play against makoto, ibuki, Yun, Yang, Dudley and Oro when I play with HUGO. Only because those characters whole game strat’s are to be right next to me. Advantage HUGO IMO, but hopefully we will see at FR6. I play against some very good makoto’s. June Ro “dooboy” and Jae Purvis “ShinRyuX” and I do pretty well against makoto with HUGO. It’s June’s Ken and Urien that owns me for free.
Don’t worry Larry.
June’s Ken and Urien own me for free too.
To tell the truth, the only person that June doesn’t own in the south is Eric Williams “Earwig”. They have great matches that I just stop playing and start watching them play each other. (EMS) grudge match are not to be interrupted when they get intense. From talking shit to slamming the stick down because someone won by a hair. It’s funny to watch them play. It’s really funny when one of them gets a 3-4 win streak and I pop in saying my next fool. Hold up larry, just one more game.
Yeah June told me about him at the G-Ville tourney. And if June takes it down to the wire with him I can only imagine how good he is.
And with March Madness being canceled I’m actually planning on attending FR6, so maybe I’ll get to see June and Eric W. go at it first hand.
BTW:
Footage of Me vs. June will be up sometime this weekend if all goes well.
Sadly though I have no finals footage due to the fact that the camera ran out of film. But if you’re curious the finals between me and June went something like this:
- I pick Q.
- June picks Ken.
- I select SAI
- June select’s SAIII
- Match Starts.
- K.O.! June molests me with Ken.
This isn’t 100% accurate though, cause I think June beat me faster then it took the read what is mentioned up above.
Needless to say I got OWNED.
silver gear… i know u like Q and all… but he’s just a bad target to get crossed up… u have to parry the cross ups more to keep ken off you… and more taunts…
IMO… u should try playing someone else… Q just has a lot of disadvantages offensively… u need to be a real G and parry everything to play well with Q.
I know. I don’t know if you over-heard me talking to Rick (Shinma_sama), but every 3S tournamnet I’ve ever entered I’ve been eliminated by a Ken player. Like you said he’s just a bad target for cross-overs.
I’m actually looking into other characters in 3S. I’ll still play Q as my main character in tourney’s (old habits die hard.), but I’m considering on picking up an anchor character just in case things go wrong (ie: My opponent picks Ken.).
Anyways,
Thanks for attending the G-ville tourney June. I had a great time playing you. Hopefully I’ll see you at FR6 or some other 3S tourney sometime soon.
I’d say the same thing happens to me but honestly…I don’t play Q
Ted
Consider yourself lucky.
I’ve been playing Q for so long that I’m kind of stuck on him, so I’m used to working extra hard in order to win…and sadly I’m used to getting owned by Ken.
Hopefully once I move back to Philadelphia I’ll be able to find more skilled competition and improve from there. Cause to bo honest with you I have no hopes of improving when 99% of the matches I play are against the lvl.8 CPU (which is dumber then mud.).
I know how you feel natedog. I use HUGO and i’m use to working extra hard for my wins also.
You do a fine job a that. I remembered you winning a gameboy advance with HUGO. That’s what i’m talkign about.
