You know, in one version of the SF comic (don’t know
whether it’s the official or not, Bison was the one that
had killed Gouken, which Vega fought Ken and Sagat vs. Ryu.
This didn’t make a lot of sense since Sagat was suppose to
be an honorable guy and only put up with Bison for another
shot at Ryu.
Of course, that did give me some idea about all this.
Here is my version of the history behind all of this,
enjoy.
Donovan defeated all the evil demons (not Felicia! :) and
trapped their essance within a prayer beads. After the
fight, Donovan found out that the Demon Stolen move had
drained his life beyond recovery. He knew his life is cut
short by a few decades, thus he summoned Anakaris from his
prayer beads and commanded him to give him the secret of
Preservation of Youth. The rest of the demons within the
beads took this chance and created a small breach in the
power of the beads. Nearly all the energy was spent on
this deed, and only a few of the demons retain any true
power left. Morrigan retained her power to explode her
chi, in the air or on the ground. Her skill of after-image
attack was also preserved, a technique to summon all chi
around you and transfer it into a barrage of attacks upon
your opponent. Demitri retained his control of hellish
flames and his teleportation warp. Jon Talbain has his
amazing speed. Raptor retained his control of electricity.
Finally Rikuu the Aqua-man have his technique of multiply
strikes. These remaining abilities were not enough for the
demons to escape from the realm of the beads, so they
waited.
Donovan, with the magic of Anakaris, slowed his growth.
Soon Anita was a grown woman, and fell in love with
Donovan, linked with their heritage in magic. Anita gave
birth to one Goutetsu, named after a kind Japanese old man
who took Donovan in, and died months later. Now Donovan
and Anita lived in peace with their son in the misty
mountains somewhere in Japan, away from civilization.
Donovan improved his control over the Youth magic and
stopped time altogether for his family. Anita, longing for
her Spanish homeland, changed her name to Rose in sorrow,
like the spanish rose that sparkles and never dies. She
also learned to control her own magic, which she named Soul
Power. She wishes to teach this magic to Goutetsu, but the
bright and ageless boy already started his own style of
fighting, tapping into the inner strength that no man knew
of themselves before.
Centuries later, the tomb of Anakaris was disturbed. The
crown of the pyramid was removed for scrutinizing, and the
spell of Youth was broken. Donovan, based during the years
totally on the magic, aged within hours and turned to dust.
He gave his beads to Goutetsu, who wore them now. Rose,
who has sustained herself with Soul Power, was not affected
with the lost of the Youth spell. Goutetsu, already
skilled with Shotokan, aged significantly but not to the
point of dead. Looking like a man in his 40’s, Goutetsu
felt astranged to his mother, and she does him. They went
their seperate ways.
Rose returned to her homeland, and started a new life.
She met a young man by the name of Vega, young, ambitious,
and totally fearless. Rose felt young again with him, and
besides falling in love with him, she also taught him Soul
Power. After a few years, Rose was pregnate with their
daughter, who was also named Rose. Vega didn’t knew about
Rose’s pregnancy, and thought that Rose WANTED a child when
she brought the subject up. Vega didn’t feel like taking
on the responsibility of child-bearing, thus he ran off to
Italy to hang with his other rich friends. One family, the
Marianos, was learned in the dark art of ninjitsu. Vega
used his rookie Soul Power and trained himself in
hand-to-hand combat. The dark side of Vega was emerging.
Soon his subconcious mind took over, and Soul Power had
festered and mutated into Psycho power. With the fund of
the Marianos, Bison plan to cash in after the chaos of WWII
and start his own little cartle in the Asia sector.
Meanwhile, Rose had given birth to Rose.
Little Rose went to boarding school, and felt very left
out since she was the only one without a present father.
Rose, also worried for her husband’s safely, had searched
for years in Italy for Vega. She learned of a secret order
named the Shadooloo, and thought her husband had been
kidnapped.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Earth, Gotetsu had two
sons, Gouki and Gouken. Both were magnificent fighters,
and masters of the Shotokan karate. They were humble and
never questioned their father’s reluctance to teach them
the full power of Shotokan. Gouken, one year older than
Gouki, reached manhood of twenty. He left for the nearest
village (and from the mountains that’s a good loooong
walk!!) to find a wife. Gouki, in Gouken’s absense,
received his father’s undivided attention and showed
amazing powers. Gotetsu, pleased and amazed at his son’s
ability, felt he had found the receiver of the heirloom.
He gave the prayer-beads to Gouki, much to his later
dismay.
Gouki had showed great promise as a fighter, and his inner
strength was equally great. However, it is not like a
large calm lake, but a wild, treacherous rapid. The demons
within the prayer-beads awakened at this fertile host.
They decided to become one with the boy and cause havoc in
the world once again. Gouki thus became the Demon. He
untapped the true power of Shotokan. However, he was still
quite strong in the mind, and has control over himself.
Gotetsu was shocked at his son’s unfortunate discovery of
power, but wasn’t able to see the struggle beneath.
A few years later, Gouken returned with his baby Ryu and
his wife, Gen Li Wei. Li Wei was a chinese girl who was
brought as a captive to Japan during WWII. Li Wei also has
a young boy Ken under her care. Ken is the son of one of
the few American immigrants in Japan, who was killed for
obvious reason during WWII. Ken and Ryu grow up learning
Shotoken karate from their grandfather Gotetsu and their
(adopted)father Gouken. They respected but also feared
uncle Gouki, who comes and goes like the wind and always
has a grim face on.
Gen, father of Li Wei, forego his teaching of a young
martial arts student when he caught words of his captive
daughter. The student was to be the father of Chun Li.
Back to Italy, Rose tracked the Shadooloo, and infiltrated
the secret base. She came face to face with the mastermind
and gasp!!! it’s Vega. Vega was shocked and ashamed to see
his wife, and bid her away. Rose was about to tell Vega
that he is a father to a little girl but he wouldn’t
listen. In desperation Rose used force, thinking Vega was
still a rookie in Soul Power. Something inside Vega
snapped and he crushed Rose without mercy, and sent the
silk scarf back to Rose’s residence.
Little Rose received her dead mother’s scarf. Never
knowing who her father really was, she didn’t know Vega’s
true identity. Using her own inheritant Soul Power and
Tarot Cards, Little Rose saw from the essense of the scarf
that a man named Vega killed her mother. She vowed justice
and began her training.
A few years passed.
Vega, thinking that Rose might have left some powerful
offsprings, set off to Japan. Before that, he recruited
two men, Sagat and Balrog. Balrog was the heir-in-line to
the Marianos, and was dying to try out his ninjitsu skills.
Sagat was training a promising student named Joe Higashi
the style of the Tiger (^_^), who was residing in Italy at
the time with his friend the Bogards. Anyway, Vega,
Balrog, and Sagat went to Japan. The later two didn’t know
Vega’s true agenda.
The trio arrived in Japan, and Vega used his Psycho power
to track Gotetsu and gang down. One night, the
confrontation began.
Vega convinced Sagat and Balrog that this was “just a
friendly challenge”. Sagat and Balrog taunted outside
until Ken and Ryu, disturbed from their sleep, when to meet
them. Vega faced Gotetsu and Gouken, but not before
murdering their wives. An apprentice under Goutetsu, Gou
Dan-San excaped barely with his son, Hibiki Dan. They ran
so fast they met up with Sagat before Ryu did. Sagat,
thinking Dan was the infamous Ryu, attacked without a word.
Gou Dan-San pushed Hibiki out of the way, who clumsily
fell off the waterfall, and proceed to fight Sagat. Gou
Dan-San wounded Sagat’s eye, thinking Sagat like Vega was a
murderous villain. Sagat was surprised and angry that a
"friendly challenge" had cost him his sight, killed Gou
Dan-San in the heat of his rage. Sagat was confronted
minutes earlier by Ryu.
Balrog fought Ken on the other side of the establishment.
The true battle raged on back at the temple. Both
Goutetsu and Gouken were not strong enough to defeat Vega.
Just when things were looking grin Gouki teleported in.
Gouki was truly a good match for Vega, but his demon
strength was not fully developed since Gouki still had a
conscience. Vega was desperate, he knew that the
off-springs of Rose must be destroyed, and unleashed his
ultimate attack. Psycho Crusher soared towards Gouki, just
as Gouki unleashed his Raging Demon. Gouki had done so
without thinking and was overwhelmed with the power of the
Raging Demon and was oblivious to everything. Gotetsu and
Gouken both jumped in the cross-fire between Vega and
Gouki. They unleashed the last of their strength upon the
Psycho-crushing Vega and blew him unconscious, some 40 feet
away. However, they didn’t turn in time to see the Raging
Demon floating toward them. Gouki caught his father of
brother within the Raging Demon, and unleashed his power,
thinking it was Vega.
Meanwhile, Ken, Ryu, and Gen came in to the scene. Ken
and Ryu just finish defeating the challengers, and didn’t
realize the true situation until they see the ravaged
temple. Gen’s search for his daughter brought him to the
temple as well. The three of them saw Gouki just dealt the
final blast of energy into Gotetsu and Gouken, who were
both long dead. Gen saw her daughter’s corpse lying near
by, and naturally assumed that Gouki killed her.
Gouki, as if awaking from a dream, saw that he had killed
his father and brother. The shock was too much, and his
mentality cracked. Gouki locked his consciousness in a
little box in his mind, never to be opened again. The
demons within the necklace finally had their chance, and
flowed into Gouki’s body. A new entity was born, and Shin
Gouki, the most powerful being in the world, teleported
away.
Ryu and Ken set off to train by themselves and to search
for the murderer of their (step)father. Gen went off as
well. None noticed the unconcious body of Vega, yards
away.
Dan awoke at the side of the river just to Sagat’s KO’ed
body floating away. Too hurt to get up, he looked at Sagat
getting away. All Dan could remember about Sagat was the
word “Tiger” before his father pushed him out of the way.
Dan rescaled the water-fall, expecting to see his father
standing victorious, only to see Gou Dan-San lying dead on
the ground. He vowed revenge.
With “Tiger” as his only clue, he traced it back to the
tournament of King of Fighters '86. There he saw Joe
Higashi in action, but decided Joe didn’t really had much
to do with Sagat. He did notice Ryo Sakazaki and Robert
Garcia. With only minute background in Shotokan, he molded
himself after the two…
Well, here it is. A few hundred lines of complete BS.
Hopefully you guys like this version of the story, I will
complete it up to SSF2T later.
