dentron and i are gonna finalize everything at 1pm today. if all goes well, we will announce our first gathering/tournament shortly.
Sweeeet! I’m really looking forward to it. Is it possible for non-UCI students to attend these? I have some friends that play fighting games and they live fairly close to UCI but they don’t attend.
nov 1st: competitive fighting game association (cfga) is officially a club at uci. apparently renting tvs/rooms are gonna cost money…however, there are grants available to help our funds. i will be looking into that. look forward to a tournament in late novemeber. i’ll keep you guys updated.
h-f blade: yes, anyone is welcome. the purpose of the club is to literally whore out the resources that UCI will provide for us (big empty rooms with tvs).
im gonna try and bang some money out of the deans office people, but we should anticipate a meeting within a couple weeks.

I didnt know ppl were trying to set up a fighting game club at UCI. shit…im there. Been sad every since Zotzone disappeared. Keep us updated.
They have some random funding for groups if you apply which would offset the costs of rooms and tv’s and stuff if not cover them entirely. If not I dont anticipate any types of membership dues being anything expensive at all aka ~10 bucks. Hopefully james will get off his ass and plan a first meeting.
If that’s the case then I don’t think costs will be all that much of an issue.
Someone should make a group on Facebook. With the feed, we can probably spread the word quickly.
That’s exactly what I had in mind because a good number of people check their facebook on a regular basis so they’ll definitely find out about it.
