The 949

Can anyone think of an area in 949 where we could hold weekly or biweekly console tournies? Maybe if we start some VIDEOGAME club at UCI or something we can use some space for “meetings”.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking of something similar. Since there aren’t that many arcades close to UCI, we’re left with consoles. The problem is finding a place where we can setup all these consoles and meet up. The gaming scene here in UCI is relatively bland with Smash Bros. being the only major thing here. We need to get some other games going!

3s .

I’m so down to get together and figure out some good location to start having tournies/practice sessions . WHOS IN? HIGH FIVE?

as you know, ive tried practace at my place, but it just doesnt work with the parking situation at vdc. We just got to find a location, any takers?

same with me. fuck vdc

So KAISING mentioned this one place in Mesa Court where we could run a tourney or practice session or whatever. He says its like below the cafeteria or something with its own room and tv in it(even though ill be bringing a tv anyway). Anyone know about this place?

just called the mesa court housing office to see if we could somehow reserve either the MAC or the community center but they said only ppl who are affliated with a club can do so. so as of now, we need to find someone who is part of an official club on campus to reserve the room for us.

a better solution imo is for some of the ppl that go to uci to start some sort of random videogame/fighting game club on campus. i’ll volunteer to start this but i’m probably going to need other “officers” COUGH kim and dentron COUGH until then, we CANNOT reserve any buildings on campus. all we need to do is somehow follow the guidelines here, http://www.dos.uci.edu/publications/guides/c1.html, then we can have the privilege of reserving a campus facility.

I’m down. I hope Superstar Matt Dentron is down also. The bookstore has hot workers. Kim out

Yeah, if we had a club of some kind, then we could reserve rooms around campus for our purposes. Going to other people’s places is really troublesome if it’s not really big. My apartment is really small so that’s out. But it seems that once the club is around, then things should be a little easier. I guess the purpose of the club would be to replace the arcade that was taken away. =\

I’m down for starting a club at UCI for fighting games. My pad is open to gaming since no one really is here in my apartment at VDC Norte. Practice sessions and the sort are nice if we can do it like before (SNF).

-Jonathan aka “crazy ass jon” according to James and Kim lol

Whats SNF, sucking N …Fu…

ill sign whatever to be an officer but dont expect me to be super involved.

It shouldn’t be hard to follow those guidelines. This club is essentially replacing the arcade that we lost.

I get the feeling that if we start up a club, we should emphasize the fact that it’s more of a fighting game club. Because if we just call it a video game club, then that’s going to attract a large number of Halo/Counter-Strike/Quake players and if our primary goal is to meet up and practice at fighting games, it could really get in our way. Just throwing the idea out there to prevent any difficulties we might encounter.

Bean gonna start on it tomorrow, hopefully! you got officers kim and mattron. and Crazy ass john just in case someone wants to start shit.
