As far as fighting games go, the spirit of Chinatown fair has been revived with the opening of Next Level in Brooklyn, NY earlier this year. Definitely the place to go if you prefer the arcade experience and want to progress your game.

8bit is fun too. Easily accessible in downtown Manhattan but the atmosphere is more laid back like chilling in a friend’s basement. They play Primarily SSF4:AE and UMvC3 there every Sunday night from 7pm-2am-ish unless otherwise stated due to a holiday or other event.
My issue with TNL is that it’s hard to get to from NW Brooklyn. I have to go into Manhattan to get a train down to it and getting back home is even worse.
I’m down to play whoever, whenever in umvc3. Been to 8bit once and liked it. I’m also willing to learn ssf4 if anyone is down to teach me.
Hey I’m in the area for a couple of weeks, flown in from Sydney for a family holiday. Hopefully I’ll be able to come pop my head in

No worries, when does it tend to get busier? And is stick rental available and all that? I don’t have anything on me.
I dont think they have stick rental. The weekends are busiest for this place.
However, The Next Level has stick rental and they actually have a tournament going down today.
They have sessions every Friday and Sunday from 7PM-1AM~2AM. If you don’t have a stick, someone will probably lend you one during the sessions so don’t worry about that.
LOL…When I asked phire for a stick he said he had none. When someone else asked for it, he brought out a really tiny 6 button stick.

hi, i’m a mvc3/kof player from CT who is visiting his friend in Manhattan for a week. I wanted to make it down to 8bit or Next Level this weekend.
