Dark and his roommate were fucking awesome, I say we get a mini-keystone-esque type thing happening regularly and just say goodbye to scandia. We can have in-house tournaments like monthly. Then occasionally as a group go to the real keystone.

I’m taking the weekend away from gaming. Stressful/long/busy week at work and I think I’m going to sleep/watch TV on DVD the entire weekend.
Dunno how much I’d go to Scandia if CVS2 doesn’t come back.
That would be pretty sweet. Looks like a lot of people from the Bay will be going to that. Would be cool to just go to check out the matches. I probably won’t know if I can make it until a week or so before.

Rival, I play Brawl on Wi-Fi. My Snake is coming along quite nice and my Marth transferred over from Melee.

No my wife and I are not on good terms, and I never gave her an assist character (baby) so I don’t have to worry about that.
On my off time I’m free to smash till dawn sans the actualy smash (never liked the game) as they say.
showed up last night around 8:30. nobody there. but worse news, the sticks are unplayable on marvel 1p side.
It’s really not that bad. I mean, yeah, it’s an hour away, but I don’t have to pay bridge toll. Not to mention I don’t have to go looking for quarters every 15 minutes. If you guys keep this stuff going over the summer I’ll definitely show up.
: ( Scandia really needs to get on stuff like this. Have we tried sending letter to them or something? You know, telling them that the reason we really don’t support them is because they don’t really put any effort in, and that if they would maintain their cabinets, we’d be there more often?
I was mostly referring to the fact that you bounce to Atlanta at times! But yeah, I’ve driven a LOT farther for games, so I feel your pain(or more accurately, don’t feel it) on that.
Yeah, I’m starting to wish I had tried transferring to Cal or something. In any event, I’ll always come back. I think. We’ll see where I end up after college.
Not to be a COMPLETE downer, but why would they care about what we want/think? When I first met Kris and Dan a couple years ago, the complaints about stick/button maintenance on the games was still an issue.
I’m sure the tech has tried to help us out but I don’t know about anyone else at Scandia.
Think about it, how much money do the fighting games make at Scandia as a whole? I’m pretty sure if the DDR machine, the ticket machines, or the light gun games were busted they would be fixed ASAP. They obviously make more money and many people play them whether or not they are fans of games or not.
Also it sucks that the random DDR kids put those sticks through hell and in the end we all have to pay for it.
While I do miss kicking it on Fridays with all you guys at Scandia, I’m getting to the point I’m tired of things going missing (CVS2) and always having problems with the sticks. If anything the recent get together at Nick’s made me realize all this even more. It was nice going over 6 hours without ever having to complain the sticks/buttons weren’t working.
Ha… F Scandia. If you have no faith in your endeavor, it is doomed to failure. Telling us we need to patronize a below average establishment before they’ll make it average is a joke. When you see a gruop of people who are dedicated to the point of drviing from out of town, sometimes pretty far, weekly just for some games, you should either cater to it in full or just drop the charade.
No, that means you can’t just throw some games out and let them wear and tear down and hope everything will be self-sufficient lke a cat with a giant cat feeder that you don’t need to watch. Things end up as you will them and if you’re afraid or function like you’re unsure and don’t put 100% into your endeavors, they’ll have a much harder time succeeding.
Scandia serves one purpose for me… it’s a place to find people to come to Shake and I’s on Thursday’s, now.
Free games, multple choice joysticks, 4 TVs (or more if people bring them), more games and hopefully, in the near future, more people.
Hopefully last weeks turnout will keep people hyped to roll out. I also want to tank everyone for being cool. Seriously. There as no stupidity or stomping or overabundance of idiocy or everything. It was just a bunch of people meeting up and being chill. I’m not saying I want quiet or shoes off or anything. Just last Thursday was perfect. People acting normal.
So yeah… if you’re at Scandia playin’ foo’s and someone’s local and seems interested, tell them to get on SRK here. We’ll get those niggas Keystone ready and maybe we can start sending some 707 reps every Friday.
