ok so i stopped by scandia tonight. I guess they close the arcade at 10 pm on weekdays. 2p side still needs a little work on MVC2 but it is vastly improved. 3s still has some quirks but it looks like rocky is going to take care of it in the next couple days
I’ll play there again when the shit is working 100%. What’s wrong with 2P MVC2? The only problem that really existed was the goofer controls on BOTH sides when BOTH people were playing.

Daniel, I’m sorry to say but you’re not proactive enough in trying to get 707 to play together. A lot of these guys just ended up dying off due to Scandia being such a mess, but there are a few of us who are really dedicated. If you really want to play, just hit me up in a PM and we can set something up at my house. I have a big screen and a bunch of games(MVC2, CVS2, 3S, etc.) that we can get down with. Plus, my other buddy has a PS3 with Tekken DR if you’re into that.
Don’t be fooled; there are people here who CAN play, just not enough of a scene to really get things moving. I would love not to have to travel just to get some decent matches on.
your right. I am not vocal enough in sonoma county. I have given up on this area. So has most of the people that play here. I mean, we had a 10 person Guilty Gear xx tournament last year. WTF? Kris bought slash in hopes that maybe 1 game would stick here, that people would be interested in the Guilty Gear scene. We had 18 people 3s tourneys at kris’ house. The majority of those people never have played at scandia and never will. What happened? well i can go down the list and name off each person but rather then do that i’ll just go ahead and say that they quit.
People were excited before about this area but because of places like scandia, the morale goes down and interest is lost. I remember even 2 months ago telling people about Evolution world and had more then 6 people say they were interested in going. Now it looks like i am going alone for sure. And if they cant get excited about a place like Vegas for fighting games, idk.

I have to say after meeting Dan and Kris, as well as a lot of new friends at the last tourney, I was excited to hopefully make Sonoma County the place I traveled to for arcades/fighting games. What happened to all those people who showed up for that last tourney? Other than Tekken 5, CVS2, MVC2 and 3S all seemed to get a lot of excitement built around it. Were most of those people local, or out-of-towners?
I have a shit ton of fighting games (import and domestic) for DC, Saturn and PS2 that I wouldn’t mind bringing up over the summer. It would be cool to have more people play the new Hokuto No Ken game for PS2.

frank have you been to the starbase?( i think that is the name) in san rafael. I hear it has a few showcase cabs like Tekken 5 with p360s. Yes? No?
last time I saw Starbase, it was running things like Soul Caliber 2 and SVC. Pretty crappy place.
Yup, I was there a couple weeks ago with some friends. the T5 cab is alright. the buttons work fine, but the 1P stick is a little funky (diagonals don’t come out smooth) and the monitor gets really bad from time to time.
they don’t have much in terms of fighting games. only have stuff like SVC Chaos, Soul Calibur 2, Tekken 5, Street Fighter EX Plus 2, Kabuki Klash, Street Fighter II, and I think that might be it. the problem with the SNK games, is two of their main cabs have really bad sticks, both sides.
I still have to check out this pizza place nearby that my friends were talking about. “Pinky’s Pizza” which I’m told has stuff like Tekken 3, KOF 98’ and MSHVSF.
sorry to sound dumb, but what is a showcase cab? the T5 machine at Starbase didn’t seem THAT much bigger than the one at Scandia.
