LOL! Jose are you talking about the guy who run’s the donut shop? Or the things Deejay shakes when he wins?
Well, what the heck happened?
I remember admonishing the 707 Santa Rosa scene for being a joke back in 2008 when it seemed no one put forth any effort to make things happen and/or keep them happening.
Then I am invited to this Donut Shop and I see something I would dare describe as “legit.”
Like seriously.
That’s no fluke, guys. That gathering of fighters was serious business. You likely could not find 20 places in the US that can boast a turnout like that. I’ve been through some pretty decent scenes. Friday Night wa bigger than the SF State scene when I went there. It rivaled the SVGL scene. ANd while it didn’t have as many set ups or people as Keystone 2, it definitely had close to as many people actively playing. Granted, a lot of the guys at KS2 don’t need to play madstyle like we do since they already have the skills, but I don’t see any reason why we can’t get to and maintain an attendance level like that.
This is, indeed, a longwinded post, but I feel compelled to make it clear that you guys have something pretty good going and I hope we can all continue to support it. I know I’ll do everything I can.
Anyone who was making the weekly drives to SF State with me, or longer yet, the drives to KS2 (all 2-2, 2.5 hours of it, driving back half… or fully… asleep at 4 or 5 AM) should definitely appreciate the shorter commute (SR cats be elated about this) and lack of bridge toll.
The revival of the North Bay all started with Los’ Dojo…
I gotta give Los’ Dojo a ridiculous amount of credit. After that it looked like the then “quiet” players of Santa Rosa, the old Sonoma County group and the Marin Heads all merged.

A) It was nice to see you again. Been too long dude.
B) That wasn’t even a slice of how many people we usually have at the Dojo. We were still missing a grip of our regulars and on top of Dan, Alex, Wen, Krispy, Fu, and all the other guys you used to play MVC2/3S with.
C) This newly formed gigantic crew is definitely a lot more focused that the old North Bay scene you were in. Everyone has been all about upping their level of play (seriously all of us have jumped so much since we first all met each other) and we have spots that are willing to house us and support us. Relying on Scandia was the biggest problem with the old get-togethers.

The New Marin/Sonoma Crew is such a combination of Old, New and Upcoming that it’s pretty insane (and awesome)
After Physics is done, I’ll be working on maining 3S characters in IV.
I want to Play DS’s Ibuki in SSF4. He went to town on folks with her in 3S, and now that she is supposed to be higher ranked, I bet he’ll piss off a lot more folks.
Our crew can never get too big. Any and everyone who’s down to hand out and receive beatdowns from my Ibuki is invited.

Since Hooman and a few others wanted to “study” my cody, I’m uploading 17 matches right now. I lose the last 4-5 but w/e lol. Might be able to show me a couple things I’m not getting or devise a plan against other codys. Also once I get my own mixer I will make some videos on some character specific stuff as it comes up.
