Notable Players: PinoAb7, Sugiyama. Both of these guys can make even yuns feel lacking.

F. Oro:

Notable Players: Dirty (music note), Insai Sensei. For a local yokel, blaq srk or antishoto.

Sean:
By kendeep.

Pokes: Cmk- Same as ken’s, Akuma’s or Ryu’s
J hk, jmk- again, same
Far stand Hp- good to punish dash ins as well as throw out an unexpected surprise attack when backing off.
St close hk- super and special cancelable, no sjc required.
St mp/ cmp- another normal that’s like the other shoto’s, same properties, however, Sean’s supers don’t always connect from the same hit confirms
St close Hp- his old meter build3r from 2i, good damage, super/special cancellable.
lp- good for ticks, quick combos.

Handling Jump ins: Close st hp
A2a hp/mp
a2a hk/mk
"Seanyuken"
Fw hk is a really funky anti air at the right distance
Close st hk- reset, can follow with throw or combo, or super even
Parry and punish
C hp
St mk is ok ish. Odd angle.
Ryuubi kyaku (“funky kick”) if done quickly enough with good spacing
Sa2
Srkxx sa2
Sa1 if they aren’t ready for it. Otherwise hold off.

Sean Extra: Sean has an interesting Mixup game between his command dash throw and his regular throw. You can poke, then on hit or block cancel into the command dash. For the sake of safety you will want more often than not to actually NOT hold down the punch button, this will create the illusion of you coming at them with an easily blockable attack, but in actuality you won’t. With the opponent blocking, you can safely use forward hp karathrow to knock down. When you try this mixup again They may try NOT to block. This is when you can stick out a nasty combo like cmk xx shoryusean xx shoryucannon. Mix in crossups and high/low pokes to your advantage and to keep the opponent confused.

Sean Extra 2: Sean can do a ton of seanyukens vs a jumping Chun in the corner. He can even throw in an sa2 and still seanyuken after that. Twice even.

Sean Extra 3: The ball. The ball Cancels everything if not parried. It can set up high low mixup as well, because it has to be parried high, you can attack low. If they block low, you can tick throw or uoh. If they don’t block it at all, free combo. A common tactic is ball then ryuubi kyaku. Also it can work for a setup for sean’s dash tackle, as well as the dash tackle mixup.

Overall game: He’s a poker. You need to be excellent with footsies and mixups as well as building meter. St mp is ok for this, but you really want to be hitting the opponent your pokes and stay offensive, keeping the opponent guessing.

Best super: All of em are good, but sa2 has the most damage potential in my opinion. Sa3 works best for a long range threat while sa1 is for really aggressive seans.

Players to look for when trying to find good sean gameplay: Kuroda, Bodler, Sean P

2I Characters: Err… who was new in 2i? Wasn’t it like, nobody?

3s Characters:

Twelve

Notable players: Yamazaki, Muto/motou (BECAUSE HE BELIEVES IN THE HEART OF THE STRETCHINESS!)

Q:

Notable Players: TM, Kuroda, Random dudes on ggpo who beast with Q because they can and they are hardcore enough to use Q.

Definitely bad: Festivalbox. This guy… Ew. Bad, bad Q. He plays Urien now supposedly but this is a guy I threw to death using st chun vs o hawk.

Remy: l2 partition and call me when I’m not drop dead tired. Vids will come.
to partition, break up a charge into parts. so you can dahs forward by pressing fw, df a few times and then press up and you should flash kick. you can also buffer a boom during a forward dash and obviously during a backdash.

He plays like guile. But he’s better and has a new move. zone, pressure, make em jump.Throw lots of booms. More mobile than guile, high and low projectiles like Sagat.

Reccomended supers- sa1 or sa2.

if i put him in ng or something im sorry he’s 3s all the way.

More to come eventually.

All the Ryu links contain a malinformed url apparently.

This looks really good though,as a new 3s player myself I was looking for something like this.

Problems fixed

i was looking for something like this… i need to improve my game
forward this to pherai… he needs it more than me

whoa! Thanks a lot. This will keep me busy for a while.

you should include this its really advanced stuff, but it shows where you can do red parries.

what a fucking ***, get cocks off your mind please.

ok and you are incredibly angry atr him for…

because he’s a fa.ggot, duh

textbook trolling dude.

You’re not going to understand, so just let it go.

That Dudley “combo guide” video…

This one is really really old but might help the new Alex players:

TCF Alex’s wake up tutorial

i kinda know the guy. omg LeAvE Me aLoNe!!1

I’m just really wondering why you specifically found him here. You coulda just pm’ed him.
at the guy complaining about the dudley tutorial- I didn’t make it. I found it, it’s pretty hard to find good youtube guides for older games.

You know for someone who doesn’t know his normals all that well this could be a toughie. As in what they look like. After playing 3s for a while you can discern their punches kicks apart by looking, but to a complete noob it’s like learning Greek without a teacher, to use hyperbole.

Am I being trolled? I thought I was good. What Dudley video? I was saying MAtt’s a homo. I just happened to find him here. wat.

huh? That seemed pretty basic yet useful 8 years ago when I found it. Alex is not a “complex” character, this should be easy to pick up

But for some reason the red parry exhibition seems simple enough for beginners to try out…

This thread has more promise as something useful for new players than a long New Player FAQ thread with no FAQ in it… cough old sticky cough

Needs sorting, but for the most part decent collection of links, n1
