to contribute and hopefully end the current debate…take a look at this, ok?
Basically, if you wanted a move to have a lot of weight behind it, like a grappler characters fierce punch, you would add more frames to add to the effect of the punch having a lot of weight behind it, like, 10 frames out of the 60 per second, it’s gonna be slower than a speedy characters fierce punch, which might have like, 5. The way you would work around the larger characters punch so that it would be as fast as the speedy characters punch, would be to blend the frames together…(an example is in that article I linked to…)
Thats just how I see it though…now onto more KoF XII discussion…I have a question. Why the hell is Terry in his old costume again?
the removal of tagging doesn’t bother me at all…it’s not like I ever did it in the two installments that had it…there didn’t seem to be much purpose in my eyes other than combo fluff…if I don’t get some regen with tagging, I won’t bother with it.
Besides, it’s in the spirit of the KoF series to constantly redo the engine and keep the series fresh for the players, so there is no reason to bitch about them staying true to that.
I dunno what to say about Falcoon though…(that is neither an insult or a compliment to him…take it neutrally)
same here, he looked better in the new outfit, maybe its because they want to add some nostalgia, or maybe because there are too many whining about they wanted the old terry back
I believe SNK is just showing fans that they’re going back their roots. Almost every character reverted back to their original costumes. Athena got her original Psycho Soldier costume/appearance, Terry lost his MOTW costume, even in the newest screenshots it appears that Robert back in his old clothes from that small icon he’s in. The only notable exception is Kyo who retained his Tales of Ash outfit, but even that kind of made sense to me because the original outfit is now designated to Kyo clones/Kusanagi and it’s KOF tradition at this point that his outfit changes when it’s a new saga. Benimaru’s top is a lot shorter than his original 94 one though…
Not sure if it’s been posted yet, but here’s a list of games SNK will be showing at this year’s TGS:

The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match - PS2
The King of Fighters 98: Ultimate Match - Xbox360
Samurai Spirits Anthology - PSP
