The 2nd KOFXII Thread (debuting at AM Show in September)

Honestly I always thought it nothing more then a forum rumor, but I thought the same about Raiden being in KOF XII as well. So right now it is still up in the air, but I will stick to my belief that it is a rumor.

is not,TRIEU from S-C said it, he works for snk and he hasn’t been wrong just yet.

Has anyone here played KOF 12? I have only recently got into fighting games, and the two games I mainly play are Third Strike and Garou, I play KOFXI sometimes because I like the cast, but it just doesn’t seem to be as solid of a game as 3s or Garou, do you know if they are improving it with 12 or just making it prettier?

No one on SRK has played KOFXII. Unless they’re that one guy from SNK-Capcom who played Nameless and Iori.

The concept of “improving” KOF with KOFXII is… subjective. Lots of people like the appearance but I guess people think SNK is going in the right direction because they hate everything that wasn’t from the OG KOF i.e. changes and SNK got rid of it. I guess people think that nothing involving other members=right direction.

Then again I’ve read the 98UM thread and the XI thread before it and there tends not be the whole “OMG SNK betrayed us/don’t evolve KOF/blah blah” until much later. Ask again in let’s say 6 months after the game comes out.

:wtf: Nameless isn’t in KOF XII. You’re probably mistaking it with KOF 2002 UM.

I never said that. The same guy who played Nameless in 2k2UM also saw XII Iori and reported on it.

No mistake made.

if you’re going to compare it to those two you’re going no where. If you really want to know what a kof really is, just play 98 or 2002.

Someone translate, please.

Not going to go through and translate the whole thing, but the most important part probably is that all characters will be playable.

meaning all 20 characters will be playable? also this was supposed to be the last ash chronicle chapter. but my lil bro just said no story? so the chapter ending will be kof XIII? IV the dream match when they finally have drawn enough characters for it…?

HD Oswald and K’. This is all that matters. Make it so, SNKP.

what the fuck is wrong with magazines? I haven’t seen any single bit of information about the game

I concur with this statement. But I doubt Oswald will appear in KOF XII, old boy is popular but his animations are probably too much at this point. I wonder who will be the game’s boss, my initial guess would be Rugal or maybe Adel, but of the only characters shown or announced that could possibly take the role of final boss might be Ash.

Any pics of Iori?

just found one never mind

Cant wait for this game, hope it becomes big!

SonicTempest from Orochinagi translated it:

I have a bad feeling about this.

Well the last time the game was shown anywhere it was in early October, so maybe they did complete all the characters for it and fixed most of the bugs and stuff.

Although pessimistic logic tells me this is really an experimental game and no KOF player should expect much beyond a very pretty and somewhat enjoyable game. Something along the lines of the first version of SF3 or Alpha 1, where it is the bare bones of a complete game but not completely polished.

Yeah the game will most likely be garbage from a gameplay standpoint. I just hope it works as a good base to build something good in the future.

I don’t know, simple gameplay isn’t necessarily bad gameplay. I’m being reminded by KOF: Orochi Collection that KOF 94 and 95 can be pretty dang fun.

So, it doesn’t have tagging, strikers, 5 DMs per character, and other crazy stuff (besides clash).
“Back to basics” seems all the rage these days…

Agreed, back to the basics is not particularly a bad thing, though there is a fair bit of new stuff. Especially when you consider some of KOF’s revisions haven’t exactly been stellar. I am crossing my fingers for Oswald and K’ as well, still ridiculously hyped for this game. Thankfully the 29th isn’t too far off it will be great to take a look at the basically complete systems.
