The 2nd KOFXII Thread (debuting at AM Show in September)

Bambi is 66 years old.

It’s still beautiful.

this is retarded. Garou has very good frames too but has a low resolution, basically everybody thinks 3s is better because it has a higher resolution. The same can be said for kof xii. This is just getting tiring, 3s vs XII, snk vs capcom all the fucking time.

Stop looking like a stupid Onslaught, you know SNK had a better team back then, they could have done it if they wanted to, but they didn’t because of the financial problems, you know the fucking story.

Just because it makes you cry, it doesn’t make the animation great by todays standards.

LOL…what do I know…I’m just an animation major and stuff…

All these games suck. Play Bomberman instead.

So, you’re saying that double sized 3S quality sprites are below today’s standards in 2D animation, right?

from kukino:In terms of data, the character size is about four times larger [than in previous installments]. But when considering the extra errors that come about in doing the [bigger] pixel art, the trouble is more than four times what it used to be."

make them bigger is not an easy task as everybody thinks, STFU already

ignorant post

rukawa:

Er, MOTW and 3S have the same resolution. You’re thinking of GGX[X].

Frankly, even though MOTW didn’t have quite the no. of frames of 3S, I always thought SNK made better use of their animation in MOTW than Capcom did with SF3. SF3 is as much overly animated as it’s well animated (look at the way Chun-li and Makoto flop around on the ground after a knockdown - surely that wasn’t necessary?). If I were SNK, I would be shooting to make KoFXII a high-res MOTW, not a high-res SF3.

I haven’t seen enough yet to see which camp it falls into, but I do note that several of the characters (Ryo, Terry, Ralf) now look like they were being auditioned for a Capcom game.

Study harder.

No, you did. I was referring to something else.

Terry looks just as big as he was in RB2 (stance is back to it too).

10:30, Rock is in

That’s funny because a lot of people said SF4 looked like a upscaled EX game…I guess there are wacky opinions all around aren’t there.

That’s not Rock Howard. It’s Kyo. You can EASILY tell because his does Kyo’s projectile not Reppuken and you can see the Kusanagi sun on the back of his jacket as well as Kyo’s df+D. “But what about the guy who said ‘Rock Howard’?” Easy. Blonde hair, red jacket, black jeans. Sounds like Rock Howard right? It’s Kyo sporting Rock’s colors.

So, I’m confused: how is that, in your opinion, SF4 looks so much better than KoFXII? You seem to think that just because it’s 3D it’s better. Frankly, I think anyone that sees XII and doesn’t just shit a brick is insane. SF4 BETTER look good – it’s all computer modeling! Besides, the animation looks robotic as hell, while XII boasts the most fluid animation to date. Not to mention, everything - EVERYTHING - is hand-drawn; that makes it even more impressive. I don’t really get it. I think that half of the people that use the word “graphics” don’t even know what it means. It gets tossed around so frequently in the fighting game world that the meaning has somehow magically changed. All that graphics means in gaming context is making a game look as vivid and clean as it possibly can given the hardware that it has to work with (apologize for the crude definition). Not liking XII’s graphics as much as SF4’s graphics is something completely different from XII having bad graphics. If you don’t understand what a term means, then perhaps you shouldn’t be so cavalier with it. Now, I’m not saying that 4’s graphics are bad. Sure, I don’t prefer the style, but they are, indeed, good graphics. However, XII is exponentially more impressive to me not only because of the style of the graphics but because of the time and energy that was put into them.

I’m not saying you’re wrong for liking SF4’s graphics better, but you end up sounding silly when you talk about things that you clearly don’t really understand that well. Also, as far as what you said about comparing a present-day game’s graphics to SFIII’s: sigh dude, that goes right back to what I said earlier. Who gives a shit how long ago the game was made?! If it’s fire, it’s fire. If anything it only adds to the compliment, considering it looks that fantastic AND it’s 10 years old. I don’t really get where you’re coming from.

The detail, the effects, the animation, just go a little above and beyond than what I’ve seen in KOFXII. I never said KOFXII looked bad, are some of you reading impaired? Being hand drawn doesn’t impress me as much as you. Paragraphs are your friend.

Woah there, no need to get defensive. One mention of a half compliment in a preview and the sprite defense squad goes nuts.

lol Dude, you argue like you’re 12 (no pun intended). lol You have a very “I know you are, but what am I” -type of thing going on. That’s funny.

Well your arguing for the sake of arguing, so STFU. :arazz:

Why does anyone take anything Onslaught says seriously? I thought it was a well known fact that he’s a retarded troll.

Woah, Burn Knuckle travels fast :wow:

That’s a nice little animation they got after Robert does his lightning-leg-thing but surely he’s at frame disadvantage because of it? I swear in one of the vids he gets punished after connecting with it in the corner.

I’m not too experienced with KoF but have they added in some chain combos?
At 0:33 here Kyo does cr.lk, cr.lk, cr.lp, df+hk - has that always combo’d?

Again: “I know you are, but what am I…” I didn’t mean to offend you and your chum. By the way, does STFU = Stanford Trinidad Felchman University? I’ve heard good things about that place; you have a link to a website or something you could post? I’ve thinking of applying up there for grad school. Thanks for any help, bro!

Does anyone have any idea who else they’re adding in? That was a lot of X’s on the bottom of the cast. lol
