Just a thought: maybe SNKP is trying to make Ralf into a a more Guile-like character? Different kinds of air-grabs, only two special moves, it’s entirely possible. Maybe you have to play more defensively with him.

If the move will be what I think it is then a grappler with such a move could be a huge pain. Glad they changed up Ralf and Clark, they seem like new characters gameplay-wise to a pretty good extent.
Its cool how they are giving certain characters unique tools. Like some have breaks now Clark has a step cancel. You’d usually expect these kinds of things to be universal across all characters. Anyone have any idea if Kim (or anyone else) has feints?

did anyone think that seeing Duo Lon do his rekkas was kind of hypnotic. it must be the hair man.
If you want a Guile-like character pick Ash. He’s basically a beefier version of Guile. He’s got a [flash kick], [sonic booms], some tricks here/there and he’s really good. Now if you can get past his effete self you’ll be fine.
Back to Clark. Now while he’s not going to be utterly worthless, but his gameplay is going to be narrower now. I mean all he’s got are new command moves and an air throw that I’m pretty sure was in XI. This is pretty depressing for me since I always play him, but retreading him back to his '94 version is pretty stupid. Hopefully they’ll buff him in the console version.
PS Who knows maybe we’re missing something here and with some playtime discover some new shit on Clark.

you know something ive noticed a lot now. A lot and i mean A LOT of blocked moves push the players back. more than any game i can remember. Definately seems to be all about making and closing space as well as possible as this game.

Very true, seems they are trying to remedy the in your face factor kof gained of contant pressure, even if under block. Like in one vid I saw Terry do a blocked jump in chain ending with a cr.D and got pushed back what seemed like 2 or 3 character spaces.
yeah but its kind of range dependent.
In the corner you can do cr.c, cd, qcb+c for pretty good damage, don’t know if you can connect anything after that.
so how does Kensou play-anything at all like his old incarnations?
No he plays like someone who is trying to do high low mixup to get his combo. and Rellying on decent space control with CD plus dp for anti-air to make you try and stop attacking him. At least that is my current impression.
so do you like this new Kensou? I never really played his old incarnation but this new one seems like one of my mains.
My mistake, I thought you guys were talking about Ralf being useless. I wasn’t comparing Clark to guile in that his move set was similar, but maybe in they way they play (Being defensive, play mind games, etc).
I caught some of the new vids by Kusanagistyle, and I dig on Ralf a lot.

edit: sie: he seems more like a hit and run character with good mix ups. hes really fast and can control the space pretty well. esppecially against the big guys. plus he seems safe as fuck with his reckes. finish with kick special at the end when hit or dash front or bak after a block.
can anybody check to see if he can chain his reckas to his multihit puch move? i supose you guys know the finisher of the move?
also anybody notice if terry geyser would clash with athenas dm what would happpen? freeze or bugs anything seen already?
even with the lack of moves and things missing game still looking like real fun to play. should be good enough to hold up to XIII…
