Falcoon made crazy alternate outfits. SO FUCKING WHAT? Pick the regular clothes, then! The game was number one on release in Japan (once again, look it up), and the only KOF that ever got any attention in the US. Does that instantly make the game awesome? No. But you people talk like Falcoon is the spawn of satan! He didn’t do anything besides what was expected of him, and he did it well - it achieved everything it was meant to be - a game that was easy to pick and play but still resembled the 2D KOFs.

If that was the only problem with Falcoon, people would’ve gotten over it a long time ago.
The problem with the MI series was that it took 3 whole releases for them to get to the point where the game could halfway hold together to make a decent fighter. The first 2 releases were just Falcoon throwing a bunch of shit he loved into games and the players having to pick through that mountain of shit for tiny corn kernels of quality.

I don’t even know where you scrounged up the claim that any MI was “number one on release” ANYWHERE in term of sales figures, so I’ll just assume you were possessed by Muscle Power when you typed that and move on…

I played a bunch and got like 15 matches or so on video. I’ve got too many random thoughts to put into one big impressions post, so I’ll do that later.

Stuff about the machine itself:

They claim it’s the final version. When asked how they got it before it was officially released in Japan, I was told “me and [the manager] are OG’s”. I guess they have connections then? haha.

We had a movelist sticker in Japanese, the game itself is in English. I assume both languages are programmed into the game and selectable by the arcade operator. Interestingly, the character VOICES are in English too… and they’re pretty bad. Kyo says “Take THAT!” in a very gay way when he throws his fireball… urgh. You’ll have to see the vids. I’m sure they’ll be togglable on the home version.

The cabinet itself… isn’t really setup for the splendor of the graphics. It’s in a Showcase 33 cabinet with no marquee, and it’s basically running on a TV instead of an HD monitor… so it’s in widescreen and there are black bars on top and bottom. Or maybe it is an HD monitor and it’s not setup properly? I remember hearing about an SF4 cabinet that had this problem… either way I’m sure the cabinet is a temporary thing and they’ll spruce it up soon, they just wanted to get it up and running.

I also took a picture to show that the game was in English but I don’t know why I bothered since some of that shows up in the vids too. Ok. (also, character-specific win quotes! yea!)

Oh god, the voices are in english too. Hoping for a debug mode so u can change the voices back to jpn while keeping the english text. also, A real shame its not in true HD atm. Maybe u should use the Time Crisis Cabinet that SF4 is using to show it off lol.

Quick impresssions from the 2 vids. Some voices don’t sound too bad (Shen), V-Slasher is sexy as hell, and Shen’s charge punch changes color when its fully charged which is nice, and the graphical effect is really nice. Kim also has a feint/breaking. I wonder how many characters have them exactly.

Characters other than grappler characters that have command grabs are hard as hell to pull off. I also asked the manager to switch the voices to japanese and he said he will do it in the morning.

yeah that shit is fucking SILLY! Even without flames, Iori still seems like a fucking beast in this game. Anthony (#1geesemaster) had quite a few win streaks with Ash-Kyo-Iori…
