Like others have said, the main one is definitely Ash and Leona. Although Ralf, is something of a hybrid charge character similar to Alex from SF3 in having grapple and charge moves.
@note- a bit off-topic I know, but Kain is a good charge character in Garou, once you find out what combos he is capable off and how to buffer his charge attacks, you’ll find that Kain is a force to be reckoned with.
Speaking of Kain, I hereby vote World Heroes Perfect’s Zeus as KoF XII Boss! …and by that I also mean his WHP Boss ver. >=)
Basic question: I’ve dug through this thread and Google a bit, but have yet to find the best place to learn the basics of this specific game. Any recommendations?
I really hope Sony lowers the price of the PS3 by KOF XII’s release. I would get a 360 but that means my HRAP2SA is worthless. I do not feel like dropping cash on another stick unless it’s for a 2nd player.
^PS3s will be cheaper this summer, they should cost under or around $200 by then.
Game hasn’t been out yet to get a full idea of how it works. Wait until next month or better, June or July, when the console version is released.
Actually I’m not interested in playing the charge type characters in KOF, but it’d be cool to have someone else nearby into the game and I think Ash and Leona would make for the smoothest transition for him. He’s not a huge fighting fan, and I wouldn’t want him to dismiss the game because there was no one with a similar move set for him to pick up and play.
I’m more interested in learning Andy (maybe Terry) and Clark.
Also, what’s up wipeout? Fellow racketer here. Think there’s a converter for PS2 to 360 … I saw a thread about it in the Tech Talk section, the thread title has to do with using a Saturn pad on the 360. Don’t know how well it performs but worth looking into.
Tizoc - I really do like the levels and characters in MOTW, but just don’t have the time to get into it for real. Only mess around on it on GGPO and my DC once in a blue moon. However, I’m more of a Rock/Terry guy in that game.
So, is the 3v3 co op online play confirmed?
I’m pretty sure that’s what was meant in the headline today in the homepage here.
I’M SO PUMPED FOR SOME CO-OP ACTION!!!:nunchuck: We gotta start coming up with teams soon here. Rocking Clark and Terry here.
if Hatred Edge buys a ps3, maybe we could be a team :nunchuck:
Tizoc, in what console are you planning to play kof?
You mean $300? Dreaming if you think they are going to cut the price in half in only a couple months.
The inevitable KoF12 side tournament at evo is going to need a strong number of entries to get the attention of Evo Staff for possible inclusion the year after.
I’ll probably rock Shen and Ash respectively at first. And i don’t know if They’ll turn out for the KOF Side Tournament. Even though things do seem better at this end towards snk games, a lot of snk communities still see SRK and Evo as the snk anti christ. Devastation/Raging Storm has a better chance of being the Big U.S. SNK tournament this year though.
Hey there. Yeah, I researched PS2 to 360 converters. I found two readily available. Owners complain about input lag for both adapters, however. The converters also retail for a high price that approaches new stick territory. Unless someone manufactures another option, the 360 is not a viable option…
Im paying to get a stick built that will have dual inputs for 360 and PS3, since I get my fighting games for 360 (since thats where all my friends play it on) but I kno that the tournaments would rather use the ps3 version in most cases. You should try looking into that.
Arcade-In-A-Box has PS3/360 dual input arcade sticks, but they definitely aren’t cheap. (We’re talking 250+ here) They’re well worth it, customizable, and as far as tourney play goes, it pays for itself.
Other then the specifics of the clash system, it is probably the same as any KOF. Four attack buttons, AB to roll, and you fight until each team is completely defeated or time runs out. The super meter is pretty basic as apparently most of the characters just have one or two supers.
So I take it there won’t be any match vids until release in April.
I’m pumped guys if this game gets as big as sf4 is becoming and will become it will force both company’s to fight for buyers. I throughly support king of fighters XII I’ve enjoyed most all kof games. but if this one is good and has a good net code why not support it.
Just random thoughts of Dpain

Oh yeah. Freaking USA console release. Good shit SNK. Terry/Robert/Ralf squad ftw
I doubt it will be as big as SF4 in the states, since SF is a big brand name here. I don’t doubt that it’ll huge in Japan and South America. Of course, we all have to do our part to promote the hell outta this game. I want to see promotional tournies out the ass here! :nunchuck:
PS. Is it just me or I’m not getting any audio outta that vid?
EDIT: A week before release we should start making team names and signups.
