The 2020 Election Thread: Harris Drops from race, only 2,000 other democrats still in

I’ve mentioned it a few times but the US government could solve every problem we all keep going in circles about if they cut their military spending drastically.

I’ll bring this up every time someone mentions “muh taxes” or wants to act like we don’t got the money. We spend as much money on our military as the next 7 countries combined, and flat out more than the rest of the combined world, after those 7, as a whole.

Nearly 700 billion dollars.

We spend nearly 200 billion just on the navy for who knows why. All those sea battles? Idk

Anyway money shouldn’t be as big a problem as we make it out to be.

Honestly the GOP knows this wall shit is silly. They had complete control of the government for 2 years. Now that election is coming up, and they lose partial control, here we are with this stalemate bullshit.

But then Russia, or China, or some Arab state would come and destroy us.

That spending is crucial to keeping America on top. It isn’t frivolous.

It’s like saying the top guy at this or that thing… no longer needs to also spend top dollar on marketing.

THE MARKETING is what keeps them top dollar.

TLDR, the strong military is what allows the US to make and hold hordes of money without others coming to take it or it’s value, from us.

Oh yea. With this part, i just want to see it happen. I have no idea if its sustainable. But I’ll tell you i don’t fear automation, and the 100+ year old economic theories that keep working class people down only seem to work out in favor of rich people.

However this bill would never pass. The bills that dems are pushing right now aren’t anything more than chess pieces.

We spend more than all those countries combined. That’s frivolous.

US military budget in 2018- 682 billion

China-200b
Russia-100b

Rest- less than 100b

Im not saying you dip down into the 100 billion range, but even dropping to 400 billion still leaves you with the biggest fuck stick and gives you an extra 250 to spare.

If I’m being completely honest I don’t think he’s really racist. He’s too damn dumb for that. I did say that country comment was probably more xenophobic that racist. He’s definitely a xenophobe, no question.

I agree with Trump on some things and not others. Would be no different with Hilary. Ultimately I make enough where other than WW3 happening I don’t think whoever is in office will have much of an impact on me.

In my eyes Republicans and Democrats are both shit. Both put the party agenda before the people. They should be removed in some form but that won’t happen for decades if ever.

You still aren’t understanding. They can’t even challenge us at this point.

In order for them to not be able to challenge us… that kind of money has to be spent.

Why?

Because if they CAN challenge us, lots of stuff becomes actual threats and they start to think ( and act) like they can actually do something.

This is what gets people punched in bars. NO ONE is rocking up to the biggest dude in the bar, that has lots of friends around, and punches him, while being one of the smaller dudes in the bar with no friends.

What CAN happen though is a small dude hits a small dude or a big dude hits a big dude or a big dude hits a small dude, etc.

The power imbalance keeps the onus for breaking the imbalance, in the states. And since we know we aren’t reallt trying to take any shit over… there will be moderate peace (and freedom) as long as the US is the major power in the world.

Now think if China or Russia was the major power in the world. Do you REALLY think they would be as nice as the US? Do you really think they wouldn’t just invade and take shit over?

They don’t give a shit about what other people think because they are communist and all opposition is crushed.

The US is the one that cares about politics and what other people think becaus the US operates its power base from a perspective of freedom.

It’s quite illogical to think about allowing the communist states a high position of power, if we can stop it.

And spending less on the military, allows them a higher position of power.

Tbh, I’d like t just take them over. But of course that would make us just as bad as them. So we have to just get this money, spend it and defend ourselves and let them fight each other till they come around and embrace American idealism and freedom. It’s already working but has a long way to go.

Moving to america isnt a human right.

Americans have a right to say who can and cant come i ti this country, and how.

Its iur countey. Not theirs, not the politicians, not aome 3rd worlder seeking welfare handouts.

Hes a union cuck. He will never accept lower wages to do the right thing.

Yeah, lets stop “wasting” money in the .military as we are doing everything in our power to drop the peteodollar, and in ine day finally give the world an incetive to no longer use the dollar to co duct buisness. Buianess that inherently puts them in debt as you are legally required to pay interest in every dollar exchanged, which is the only thi g keeping us from hyperinflation.

When we wage war with the chinese over Africa’s rare earth minirals, or are forced to make foerifn nations into fealty via the continued use of the dollar to engage in trade to prevent hyperinflation, suddenly that 700 billion dollars wont seem like a waste.

Its rarher disturbing that you bot only do not underatand how miney works, but dont understand how the peteodollar works and why its probably the only thing thats keeping us from becoming a 3rd world shithole.

We’ll have to just disagree on this then. It’s just hard to believe that there’s literal extra billions laying around and you guys would rather keep spending that exorbitant amount when something as small as 10 billion will give us a major overhaul of our borders.

Let’s just keep caging people instead so our 682 billion dollar dick doesn’t shrink to 672. Which still is bigger than the next 7 combined. Makes good republican sense.

Come on bro. I can’t take E-con lessons off a dude that can’t spell check. Your posts look like drunk texts.

Yeah, I just explained it to you. Until you or anyone else has a better more workable solution, you need to stop saying this. Continually saying it while having no solution just makes you sound like a petulant little girl that thinks with her feelings.

You do of course realize that those “cages” tend to be better living conditions than from where they came and that they came WILLINGLY and are being fed clothed and sheltered. But yeah… let’s stop doing that. Good idea.

You didn’t explain anything and i just laid out the solution. Shrink the military budget.

And come on. You’re basically saying they should be grateful for their cage and no bed/shower/toothpaste. Beyond gobling whatever political bullshit youre being sold, that shit should bother you.

You have to compare military spending per GDP, USA is fourth behind Saudi Arabia, Israel and Russia. The military spending of France and Turkey is comparable to the USA as a % of GDP.

But by straight dollar figures US is #1 for military spending

The US spends more on defense than the next 6 biggest combined.

You have to take into account GDP, California has a higher GDP than India. It also says it’s below historical average as % of GDP and it will continue to decline.

So the argument then would be that the 682 billion dollars is more affordable for us than it is for 3 other countries.

Ok, but its still 682 billion and much more than what’s necessary. It still leaves us with a bunch of extra military bases around the world. We still decommission lord knows how many military vehicles each year.

Too much money spent is still too much money spent whether it 4th or 1st

this topic was done to death in the old threads and the hot takes were just as idiotic then as they are now.

on this scale? no, this was a question answered in the old thread and before one of you posters runs up in here and embarrasses himself with a hot take. obama didn’t have a family separation policy like trump falsely claimed he inherited from obama. that was a straight up lie. everything you people are talking about is the direct result of the trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy towards immigration. their policy choice of systematically separating families are a feature not a bug and only inherent in this administration.

apparently, the trump administration is laboring under the delusion that family separation is a deterrence to immigration. obviously, this wasn’t the case because they were completely ill-prepared for the unforseen consequences which is a direct result of their poor policy choice. other administrations chose not to rashly and impulsively pursue a similar policy due to the unintended consequences inherent with such extreme policy making.

obviously, this isn’t a problem for the trump administration since shifting the blame to others when poorly thought out decisions erupts into a crisis of their own making is also a feature of the trump administration.

cult45 should know exactly what i’m talking about since trump recently threw his entire fucking cult under the bus to save his ass. lol…it’s hilarious how trump stans try to act like it’s didn’t happen and go right back to blindly co-signing dumb shit from their cult leader after he just shitted on them.

why would it bother them? you do realize you’ve been mostly conversing with cult45 members? furthermore, if you were in the old threads you would have seen them defend and co-sign all kinds of dumb shit even after trump undermined them.

OTOH, i am grateful to them because the amount of clowning, sonning and all around fuckery i pulled on these trump stans was…

anyway, start at my post and work you way down and laugh at the all the ridiculous stanning and hot takes.

No we dont.

If Sadia Arabia wants to spend like there no tomorrow despite their biggest cash cow, oil been on the decline (in terms of how much non-renewable resources left untapped). Let them.

And Israel, we fund their military spending.

No one comes close to man numbers or equipment for our military. China can match us for personnel but they would lack basic gear and weapons for everyone. But that is it.

You know how the US beat the USSR?
The USSR spent too much on the military and they went broke. And the Russian Federation sold alot of old Soviet gear and tech to fund basic needs for the country.

Serious queation

What are you going to do when the petrodollars run out and we have a collapse of our dollar? Nobody seems to think or account for what the petridollar does for americans in terms of funding, apending, etc.
