Never thought I’d say this, but GS got jobbed on some of those 4th quarter calls - I can’t front. Kyrie getting that superstar treatment.
I don’t like either team, so it’s whatever. I think these refs get caught up in the energy of the crowd sometimes. I’ve seen so much suspect officiating this season.
Man if I don’t see the Rockets give extended minutes to the bottom of their bench tonight, that will confirm my belief that Bobby Brown the NBA player is trash.
Apparently Jalen Brown’s best friend died the night before the game, he only played b/c the friend’s family convinced him to. Makes sense after the fact - Brown is good no doubt, but he was a bit extra last night.
People mad at Lonzo when he was drafted knowing he would be a work in progress. He is drastically undersized and they needed to see if the shot would translate. The thing is Lonzo had an effect in that they are passing more this year. That is a good thing. People calling him a bust when his game( not including the passing and rebounding) weren’t even tailored for the league. This is a scoring guard league now. He had never been that.
I called this when it happened - it’s actually what made me dislike the Heat until Lebron got there. Anybody watching that series knew it was fixed. Not even a debate. It was just as bad as Lakers/Kings.
As I watched that series I knew when Wade Started getting free trips to the line the fix was in. Dirk should have 2-3 rings right now. I am just glad he got that 1. That one validates his entire career.
Correction: Heat should have 4 championships right now and Dirk none, but LeBron couldn’t handle zone defense. And they let JJ Barea look like Iverson.
People can say whatever about the 2006 championship. It was 11 years ago. Heat have it, Mavs don’t.
Ray wasn’t on the team that year. They got Ray Allen and Shane just for beating zone defenses. Teams got cute and tried following Mavs blueprint, so in 2012 every other team was running zone first couple months. Heat shooters killed that.
The Raptors are continuing their great play so far. Its still a bit bizarre watching them with all the young talent. I don’t know if this strong play will continue late into the season, but it is refreshing at the moment.
You know what’s embarrassing? Shaq averaged only 13 ppg, and the Mavs lost to just 1 guy getting free throws. It’s not like Wade was dropping 50 either. People don’t realize how much worse they make Mavs look by coming up with excuses for them.
People bitch about Wade getting 30 free throws in a Finals game. Meanwhile Harden has done that in regular season games. People need to stfu already. You’re not changing anything. Call it “tainted” if you want to. Ask a Warriors fan how they feel about people calling their 2015 chip tainted cause they beat a half Cavs team. They’ll laugh at you.
Man idk if the raptors have a deep playoff run in then but their young bigs are superb. This is the type of team that could beat GS in the finals. Talented bigs that can run the floor and clog the lane. Hate what they doing to the Knicks now but I enjoy watching this team.
The Mavs had chances to win that series even with the heavy foul calls, and don’t forget wade is the last of the shooting guards who’s game is focused around taking it to the rim (DeRozan is the , and he was in peak form in those years. I think the season or 2 after the championship was the year he played some of the best basketball I’ve ever seen. He was leading his team in damn near every stat nightly, and blocking shots like a big man!
I still remember Dirk taking out his frustration on the way back to the locker room. I think he throttled a gatorade jug lol. He wasn’t just mad at the officiating. He knew he could have closed out some of those games even with the dicey officiating. Dirk got his good karma moment when he got his turn at winning with worse players vs. the Heat (I still can’t believe Bosh was the most consistent Heat player for that whole playoff run).
Sidenote: I love Toronto’s team, despite not being from there. I really want them to play their best ball in the playoffs, which I’ve never seen them do other than in spurts. Hopefully the promising bench will keep the backcourt from wearing down because they are such a fun team to watch when they are clicking, and their home arena atmosphere seems top notch.
