People keep forgetting Lonzo isn’t a score first pg. He is passer. If you expect him to put up 20+ a game that isn’t his thing. He does need to score more but he needs about 16-18 a game. He basically should be a 16 10 7 guy every night. He got 13 assist tonight with trash. Imagine if he had some REAL talent. This year is gonna be a growing pain for him as he is undersized (weight) and he needs more time to learn defense. Right now don’t expect much but 8 10 6 on the year with work games where he goes off and gets you a triple double. When that shot is falling he is getting you at LEAST 24.
I don’t mind him not scoring a lot except he does try. His FG% is shit. Like he is ok driving (he could use more weight) but his jumper is awful. Just stick to passing and let Clarkson be your main scorer. Also Kuzma should be a starter
Multiple outlets showed all the fouls against Curry… and they were fouls. If anything, it was the lack of ref assist he was pissed about. They were usually fouls he’d get away with, but it doesn’t negate that they were still fouls.
Whether or not Conley fouled Curry on that drive (the angle I keep seeing doesn’t show enough), Curry still reverted to his true crybaby self. He and Warriors always get their diapers in a bunch when things aren’t going their way. Even if you assume Conley did foul him, they still come off as extremely hypocritical b/c they get away with much worse on a regular basis. If things were called down the line, Draymond would foul out or be ejected in about 10-15 games a season. Curry would be in foul trouble a lot more also. He doesn’t play straight man up defense - he reaches a lot. Chalmers and Harrison were going right by him.
At the end of the day it was one game where the refs got it right. They’ll get it wrong a lot more and Steph and Co can over celebrate refs falling for their flops.
Completely unrelated: I’d love to see Bledsoe in New Orleans. They need to be on the phone now, b/c you know Houston is.
as someone who watched the game I can tell you is not about Curry not fouling, is about what was going on on both sides of the court seemed like being officiated by different standards. Yeah I’m not denying some teams/stars getting special treatment (LEBRON) but that night “rough screens” were being called fouls while fouls (under the same rules at least) done by Grizzlies were considered “hard defense”.
In that case, I’d make the argument that Draymond benefits from that type of officiating all the time. Refs give him leeway because he “plays hard and is highly emotional”. A foul called on Gasol wouldn’t be called on Draymond. A tech on Gasol wouldn’t be called on Draymond.
I feel like from what you say (ignoring you’re a GS fan), the refs called the game with Memphis’ physical style in mind - similar to what they do for Draymond every game.
I’m not a “GSW fan”, I do watch their games cause they play good bball, I’m a Hornets fan (yeah I know). And tbf, Draymond does get technicals very often. KD getting ejected for example that’s something unusual (not saying it wasn’t justified).
Dray gets techs, no doubt. But my point was if they called it straight, he’d lead the league by a good margin. He only gets techs once the refs just can’t take it anymore, but nobody in the league gets as much leeway than Draymond.
And my bad didn’t realize you’re a Hornets fan. I’m sorry on multiple levels.
McDonough sounds like a slave owner. “He got out of line, we had to make an example of that boy. The rest of ya’ll betta fall in line and you betta want to be here.”
I’ve said for years that we need Sarver ousted but the only way that’ll happen to his stubborn ass is if he gets outed as a racist like Donald Sterling. Maybe one day I’ll get my wish.
