The 2018-2019 NFL Thread: What will Goodell screw up this year?

There is nothing to merge. They are bankrupt with significant debt. Vince is no dummy. Any sort of merger would make him responsible for the AAF debts. If they have any assets worth a damn, he’ll be able to pick and choose what he wants for pennies on the dollar when they are sold off. That won’t require him to assume any outstanding debts.

How the fuck is it petty to not merge? Vince isn’t spending a shit ton of money on ANOTHER failed brand. He gains nothing from merging with them. At best maybe he’ll buy up some of the team branding that actually had some legs but that’s it.

Plus, imagine if you were Vince. You’re, wisely, slowly gearing up for your inaugural season. AAF comes up to you begging for a merger (this actually happened by the way) half way through the season when it’s plainly obvious to everyone that it’s about to die. Are you going to sell a bunch more WWE stocks to buy up a League that wasn’t even competent enough to secure funding for more than two weeks? Fuck outta here, if he needs anything from them he’ll wait.

It was just an observation homie. No need to get bent out of shape over it.

Just heard JPP is likely to be out for whole season due to a surgery he needs for a neck injury he got from a single car accident last week. I’m no fan of his or anything due to him being on the Giants so many years, but damn, that really sucks for him.

Agreed, it is fucked up for any player, but given him coming back from that fireworks hand injury, I wish him the best.

No you bitches took the little enjoyment I get from our best defensive player going down the for year…

I was suppose to say this sucks that JPP’s fourth of July is ruined now…

Seriously this fucking sucks. Noah Spence going to have to finally have that breakout year.

RIP to Bart Starr

Living in Green Bay, this guy was a straight up 100% legitimate Gentleman. You can’t say that to a lot of people these days, however Bart Starr was a Super Class Act of super high morals, and I have nothing but the greatest of respects to this man.

Everytime he visited Lambeau Field, I would always, always pay my respects, stand up and applaud this man, because I was more in awe of his character rather than him as a football player.

I still remember how when Favre was going to have his number retired that he wouldn’t do it during the scheduled year simply because Bart Starr would not be able to attend it due to his health, and this was postponed another year in order for Starr to be healthy enough to come and join in. Favre even said that they posed for a picture of the three legendary QBs together (Starr, Favre, Rodgers together), however I can’t seem to find that picture online unfortunately :(.

Imo, Starr is Super, Super underrated as a QB, and when I look back at his post-season numbers, this dude was a flat out Winner, his Post-Season Record his efficiency, his TD/INT ratio as a QB during that time and his passer rating is actually mind boggling and he ranks #1 all time on this.

Everyone remembers the Montana drive to win the game, however Starrs drive during the Ice Bowl for me is more amazing, simply because Montana did it perfect 67 degree weather, while Starr drove 60+ yards in -17 degree weather that isn’t including windchill factors.

Within a 7 year period, Starr wins 5 Championships and 3 consecutive titles which is a feat no other NFL Team has ever matched before or since.

Starr was a winner and he did it knowing that he wouldn’t get the recognition that he truly deserved because their were so many HoFers on his team and his coach is still arguably the Greatest NFL coach of all time, however that didn’t matter to him, and that to me is what truly made him such an incredible human being.

An All Time Great Football player, but an even Greater Human Being. I’m just happy he’s now up there with his coach once more.

Also very happy that I got to see this man a few times in my life.

God Bless Bar Starr and prayers to the Starr Family.

Edit: Didn’t know I wrote this as a reply to purbeast, that wasn’t my intention so ignore it.

McCoy to Carolina is so sad to me. Ive loved McCoy for 9 years and I hope he is able to finally get to the playoffs and win and this works out for him even if his best games are against Tampa.

Though I did laugh my ass off when Suh said some BS about being the difference. This mofo has been on crap team after crap team and one year was on a stacked roster. Suh was good for Detroit but he wasn’t half of what Aaron Donald is on his best day. Seriously the Lions didn’t win game stickily because of him or even in Miami.

Just got tix to the October 24th Vikings Skins game in Minnesota! Gonna be awesome seeing Cousins play his old team!
