Tokido was the first person I believe to introduce Urien unblockables to America, but I wonder who was the first to figure out or popularize it in japan. If I’m not mistaken RX really innovated with the unblockables but I don’t think he was the first???
It would be interesting to hear 3s history from someone like mester, nuki, boss, KO, etc. Like I’m sure there are new players that didn’t know KO use to main yun, boss use to main yang, etc etc
I miss nuki stories! he should start it back up again but his focus seems towards more on nico streaming instead of 3s/game versus these days.
Leaving out kuroda as a possible option I agree wholeheartedly… tama out and fuji in. Will be intresting to see how dirty does, he was playing yun or someone other(?) than oro in the last vids I saw. If dirty and tama pull their weight this team looks like one that could possibly cause some upsets. Will be watching their matches real closely. I feel this team actually poses a threat in the pre-tournament unlike the #1 oro team.
Still waiting for the urien five. I hope that they can get a competitive team together since urien (imho) is very spectator friendly. Just look at the RX “Wanted” class-specific vids and tell me uriens combo and unblockable potential isn’t awesome to watch.

Back then (10 years ago, damn) I remember reading around that the unblockables setups originated from a player named Anago. And yes, RX wasn’t the top Urien at the time. Tokido, Onanism and Pierre were quite better.
KO was Yun, period.
Yes that would be lovely! How much has changed! Now we have the dreaded Chun trio around, back then every good character had a “holy trio” of sorts. Yun had K.O - Nitto - Mester
Chun 3 was Nuki-AFM-Raoh (how the mighty have fallen)
Ken 3 supposedly was Hikone-Spellmaster J-Umehara
Makoto 3 was J-Izu-INO
I agree, simply watching him being able to pull it off in some of those situations was pretty awesome. Very inspirational player in my book.

on the 15th nuki announced he’s going to stream a tournament and tell old stories with matsuda-san including how coop began, how tougeki began, how KO came on the scene, etc.

Did you see ruu vs kaeru FT10? He might be a little, but definitely not super rusty with the results against someone like kaeru
I’d say 1 month is plenty to shake the rust off for any player if he has the chance and the time to practice properly
Nah, I don’t see why he’d be rusty. He probably still plays regularly just like most of the other players that we don’t get to see in video very often. That and also the fact that usually the week before big tournaments is crazy, with everyone willing to get as many games as possible.
